    Best practice for resource tree setup

    We are configuring our field service application for one of our client. Please advise about best practice i should follow to setup resource tree for  the activities management. The details for the company and its business as follows:

    • Company has multiple locations word wide
    • Each location/country manages its own operations
    • Each location/country is divided into regions (say reg01, reg02, .. reg0n)
    • Each region is managed by a Regional Manager (RM)
    • Each RM has its team of field resources (Driver, technician etc)
    • Each RM has trucks which dispatches for work along with driver, technician etc
    • When the truck goes on field to work it also uses inventory
    • Sometimes one truck is send or sometime more than one.
    • AM also wanted to see how much capacity he has in a point in time. Its free and occupied resources.

    Please advise how to setup my resource tree to accomplish above in a flexible way. Thank you.

    Hi Gurus,

    As per OFSC functionality we know that the past activity cannot be moved or cloned. That particular activity will stay in the technician bucket forever. 

    Is there any way to move the past activity. In our customer scenario the technician may not start the activity in the allocated day. In case if he misses to reschedule the activity what are the cases to clone/move the activity to the current date without making the activity to stay in past date without any response.

    In toa mobil is there a possibility that the technician can move the orders and organize the route?

     

    That is, the technician has a list of 60 orders, and he wants to be able to put order in them, to start them at his convenience, by proximity between one and the other.

     

    This is possible?

    Dear, I appreciate your help, we are designing a control panel to visualize in neal real time the status of scheduled activities on the day, however we have not been able to identify an API that allows us to extract all the information in question, for which I will appreciate can tell me if there is any method that is not the Data Warehouse service, since this only extracts the previous day and not the day, since thank you very much and I hope you can help me

    Apart from the route assigned to each technician we would like to have a pool of low priority activities common to all the technicians of the group. They should be visible and available to all so whenever technicians have the time or pass by a certain region they can check them, pick one and start it.

    Do you have any ideas on how we could implement that?

    There is one idea about having a different bucket for all these low priority activities, visible to all resources. But I think that this wont be very practical to switch back and forth between technicians route and the bucket. Also I dont see a way to see the technician's route and the other bucket's activities on the same map view. 

    We were also checking the teamwork functionality but as far as I understand it, this is something that is done by the dispatcher and has to do with a specific activity only.

    Email notification to technician to deactivate route or complete activity

    We want to "remind" our technicians to complete an activity and/or deactivate their routes at the end of the day.

    These type of issues normally occur on the last activity, because Techs are rushing to get home after fix. Technician will not complete activity or deactivate the route until the end of the day or the beginning of their shift the next day.  I would like to have a launch condition like "Expected End Time of Daily Shift".

    Is there a message scenario configuration for notifying technician when last activity is not completed 2 hours past End Time of Shift?

    Or Route is not deactivated 2 hours past the completion of last activity?

    Hi Gurus,

    Can anyone give a solution for the below scenario.

    Hierachy of the project is like

    Manager

       -> Supervisor

             ->List of technicians

    The Requirement is supervisor will travel in the field to look into technicians work. And also route the activity which the manager assigns to him.

    But while creating a resource type only the bucket has feature to route the activity. So to track the geo location of a supervisor I have to create a field resource later what provision I given in user type routing cannot be done.
