OFSC Open Source Developments - Data Loader
    Content:

Hello OFSC community. A few have asked me about using the data migration and management tool I built for OFSC. Apologies if I didn't respond, I have just been very busy. I'd like to open source the project, that way we have the best chance of keeping up with the rapid pace of development, and it starts to build a free and healthy open source culture in the community.

I have some other projects I'd like to open source, including a collaboration event triggering system for the new 19B patch, which I'm very excited about.

I'm keen to learn if there are others in the community who invest any of their time in an open source group. It would also be good to connect with users, both those who have some spare time to help test, document, and who would like a voice in driving an open source roadmap supplementing OFSC's fantastic capabilities.

I put a lot of thought into making the data loader as dynamic as possible, which means that it has features like synchronisation with the metadata API, so the moment you add a new field in OFSC, it is available in the tool. I'm working on tools to batch load testing/dummy data for easy routing trials!

I have a couple of points to iron out on deployment and security with the help of the OFSC team, so if anyone would like to get early access then please get in touch.

    Hi,

I have setup the Visibility in User Types screen for Routing since by default is not there. Still it is not visible and I am using admin user. Do we need to setup anything other than visibility to view the Routing? Dispatch also not visible.

    Thanks,

    Mohan

move orders so that they are not considered by routingAnswered1100%

move orders so that they are not considered by routing
    Summary:
It will be possible to move orders to a type of resource that routing does not consider.
    Content:

Our client handles suspended orders that can go several days without attending.

We need to be able to separate these orders from their original buckets and pass them to another one called "suspended" or something similar without routing taking these orders into account.

They are currently handled in a bucket but, routing when considered, it obviously routes them again.

The client needs to be able to locate in some type of resource the orders that are suspended and that are not routed by the system. They will manually locate them in the corresponding technician.

This is possible ?? Is there any alternative?

    Thank you.

    Hi !!

Our client at the time of selecting the next work order, needs to be able to confirm through a message or alert the data of the order that you have selected just when you press the send button.

    https://www.screencast.com/t/YI7ezcqj5

At the moment of pressing the send button, a message of confirmation of the data and the order that I select will be shown, in case you chose a mistake you can return to the previous screen (end order) and select the correct order.

Is there an order counter to enable?
    Content:

Good afternoon, By business policies, the client needs to be assigned 50 orders daily to their technicians. Is there a kind of counter that we can enable ?. The general context is the following: A technician has to solve a maximum of 50 orders during the day (some can be canceled by different concepts) but you should always be able to finish 50 orders at the end of the day. Help me with your suggestions or recommendations please. Thank you.

    Usage of Bundling Key100%

    Title:
    Usage of Bundling Key
    Summary:
Using Bundling Key to Assign Activities to a single resource based on Custom Parameter
    Content:

    Hello Experts,

Hope you all are going great.

We are currently working on a Scenario in which we need to assign all the activities to the Field Agent which have a common parameter i.e in our case "Box Number".

If two activities have the same box number(Custome Property: Integer Type). That activity needs to be assigned to a single agent. As per our understanding, this can be achieved with Bundling Key. Kindly suggest If you have a better approach to achieving this.

In regards to bundling key we have a couple of Questions:

    • Bundling key is used to send just one Notification to the customer when the given group of Activities needs to be delivered etc. However, we are trying to use the bundling key in a different way. We are not sending the notification to the customer. We are using the Outbound message to send data to  Service Cloud when the activities would be Moved. ("Move Activity" Trigger). Therefore even if the group of activities is moved to have the same bundling key. Would it send single message or group of a message to service cloud?
    • As per our understanding, Bundling Key can now be used for Manual Routing also. (the previous release it was only used for immediate routing). Please correct me if I am wrong if two activities having a common value(Box Number: A customer parameter) will be assigned to a single resource when we are doing a manual routing.

    Thank you in Advance.

    Regards,

    Prashant Singh Bhadauria

Assigning the activity based on lat and long details

Assigning the activity based on lat and long details
    Content:

    Hi Gurus,

We are trying to assign activity to the technician's inventory nearby location rather than assigning based on customer location. My one of the option is to push lat and long details of the the inventory location. Will that be helpful for routing that that activity to the technician who are nearby that coordinates.

If any, can someone suggest idea to achevie this solution.

    Thanks,

    Madhu

Use "address" as bundling key and create bundling...1

Use "address" as bundling key and create bundling key only automated-routing
    Summary:
We want to create a routing profile that will add more weight to bundling than address coordinate
    Content:

I have seen a few similar posts in the past, but not any definitive answers or solutions.

Our subsidiary averages 4% coordinates found on addresses.  This is a government level issue and address verification will not be immediately resolved.

As a work around, each technician/group has a personalized work zone. Within each work zone, communities are grouped by terminal (like GR 10, GR 5, ...). We write the terminals to the 'address' and enabled visit functionality with 'address' as bundling key.  Unfortunately, we still have activities autorouted that are not grouping the terminals (addresses).

    For example; Activity1.address = TB4, Activity2.address = TB4, Activity3.address = TB7, Activity4.address = TB7, Activity5.address = TB4

This seems to be due to some algorithm that Oracle developed for routing by address. The postalCode is also not used, so I have recently started writing the terminal to the address and postalCode.  Has anyone developed a routing profile to give preference to bundling and reduce weight of found addresses?

I need to eliminate job skills and capacity categories but it shows me the following message:

Is there a reason why even if they are deactivated, no technician has them, no time interval using them cannot be eliminated?

Routing 2nd truck role to same tech2

What are steps to route second truck role to same tech as first
    Content:

What are the steps to take to have routing assign a work order to the same technician that was assigned to the first one and had attempted the work order previously?

My customer has looked at the data, and we believe this could have positive impacts on their completion, duration, and customer service for jobs that require 2 truck rolls or more. These improvements should help increase profitability by eliminating additional truck rolls and reducing time spent on site. Obviously the system could not guarantee the same tech would roll, but there is room for improvement as it only happens 33% of the time currently.
