    Capacity check - Multiple time slots in same bucket100%

    Capacity check - Multiple time slots in same bucket

    Hi Gurus,

    We have a requirement to have two different activities with different duration. one activity type with 1hr duration and another with 2hr duration. So we have defined common 2 hr time slots like 9-11,11-13, so that two 1hr activities can be booked using this 2hr time slot only and also configured capacity category for the bucket.

    We have two resources in bucket with both the work skills. Issue is we have tried booking two 1hr activity and one 2hr activity for one time slot, in available capacity/booking status screens under quota, it is showing as "0" properly. But in REST API(Booking Options API), instead of returning this time slot with reason as " no Capacity", it is returning the time slot.

    Is there any configuration changed required?

    Please guide me if i am wrong.

    Features of Capacity Module

    Hello Experts  ,

         Our Customer is considering the possibility of enabling the Capacity Module for OFSC . In this regards we  have following Questions:

    1. After enabling the Quota Management, We can adjust quota for the current date and future dates. While enabling the quota for the future dates due we need to have the licensing of  Forecasting Module ,
    2. Are all the fields that are needed to be taken in to consideration for Quota management are needed  to be added as Workskills . We am specifically referring to capacity of truck ie. Weight and Volume .
    3. What would be outcome during routing if the resource reaches its capacity for a particular time slot . Would it be non routed activity or allocated to some other resource which is not having a specified capacity .

    Thanks & Regards,

    Prashant Singh Bhadauria

    How to check the capacity for any activity after 1 month

    Dear Experts,

    I have observed that the max available value gets updated only for 1 months, even if we configure the calendar for the bucket or for the resource for a long period. If i want to check the quota after 1 month then the value of Max available is empty so quota comes as 0.

    Can we increase the time duration for Max available to get updated for 3-4 months in advance.

    Quota managemnt for new capacity category1

    Quota managemnt for new capacity category

    I need to apply a new capacity category with a new work skill that limited resource will have, previously all resources were skilled to do all job types therefore we have only had one capacity category. How can I now configure the capacity bucket so that we can calculate the correct number of quota minutes for the resource in the bucket who are skilled for each capacity category and take into account unavailabilitys which we apply as an internal activity to the resource. Here are the two issues I am finding at the minute

    Quota by capacity category setting

    Setting 1) Quota is entered as % of maximum capacity available in this category

    Pros –   Calculates the correct quota minutes for the amount of capacity in the bucket that has that work skills. This is good as it means quota can be set without knowing what shifts the resources in the bucket work.

    Cons – Does not count other activities into capacity quota calculation which may lead to overbooking and means every time any person has an Internal activity applied it becomes very manual for the diary team who then need to adjust all capacity quotas.

    Setting 2) Quota is entered as % of quota defined on a parent level

    Pros -  Other activities are considered Quota % are calculated from max Available-Other activities

    Cons – Quota for that capacity category can be opened even if there is no resource open that is skilled on that day. I.e total quota minute 200 if you open capacity 'commercial' as 50% quota will open for 100 minutes even if no one is working that day who has that skill.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    How does capacity/time intervals work ?350%

    How does capacity/time intervals work ?

    Hi All,

    I am trying to see whether I can make capacity intervals (Configuration --> Business Rules --> Quota Management --> Capacity Intervals)  work.

    I added couple of capacity intervals which are not same as time-slots. e.g. 09:10 - 10:30 as capacity intervals.

    When I went to bucket enabled for Quota Management (Dispatch --> Quota then View --> View Capacity) I could see against each capacity category / capacity intervals combination capacity, hours for each interval. Please note these are totally different then time-slots. As shown in screen shots.

    Now when I try to find the capacity using REST API  -- /rest/ofscCapacity/v1/activityBookingOptions

    I am getting response as

    "date": "2017-06-13",
                "areas": [
                        "label": "South_East",
                        "name": "South East ATT Bucket",
                        "reason": "noCapacity",
                        "bucket": "South_East",
                        "timeZone": "Etc/GMT"

    I am not sure how to add quota for these booking/time/capacity intervals and how do I make it work to see capacity/quota available using the REST api.

    API Request =,2017-06-14&activityType=DEINSTALLATION&postalCode=63043&determineCategory=true&minTimeBeforeArrival=10&determineAreaByWorkZone=true&estimateDuration=true&estimateTravelTime=true

    Attached screen shots for reference

    1. Capacity Intervals configuration

    2. Quota details for that bucket.(2 snapshots a. config and b. capacity details)

    3. API request/response

    Please let me know how can I get response using API ActivityBookingOptions when I am using Capacity/Booking Intervals options and not time-slots.

    Stop booking activities once quota consumed is 100%1

    Stop booking activities once quota consumed is 100%

    I have enabled %stop booking for a time-slot/Capacity Category combination. So once Quota used = Total quota for a time-slot/capacity category combination no activity should be created.

    1. When get_capacity is executed using Capacity Management API, it ensures no quota details are sent for that.

    2. But when I try to create activity using Inbound Interface API, it allows to create activity and due to which the used quota exceeds total quota defined for that time-slot/capacity category combination for that day.

    Is there any way I can stop booking at 100% through interface? I am using Inbound interface to create an activity.

    Capacity Reservation1
    Topic posted February 17, 2016 by Sachin RathodBlue Ribbon: 750+ Points, tagged Capacity / Quota
    Capacity Reservation

    Is there any possibility of capacity reservation in OFSC. The requirement is to release capacity in continuous fashion based on the usage.

    For example, If capacity has to be reserved for 25/Feb starting 18/Feb then while during get_Capacity using Capacity Management API it should give only 60% of the allocated capacity in minutes. Later if the capacity consumption is increased by 22/Feb, user should be able to increase the release of capacity to 90% and so on...

    Requirement 2: Is there possibility of Overbooking in OFSC. While performing get_Capacity using Capacity Management API, whether OFSC can send more than allocated quota(e.g. allocated = 480 mins/per day for each capcity category & time slot) then will it be possible for OFSC for respond with more available capacity 1000 mins/day for each capacity category and time slots combination.?
