    Hello,

    Our client is using the identify activity by to randomly select work orders.

    This field only comes out at the moment of finishing the order and from there the technician can choose which order to attend.

    How to consider the location of activities already booked using capacity

    Hi all,

    For those community members using the Capacity module in OFSC, im wondering if you can assist...

    My organisation is currently exploring the use of Capacity in order to book customer facing appointments. We have opted for Availability based booking which will return to our external booking system availability based on Quota and Capacity.

    Based on my understanding of availability based capacity, i know that it will consider what resource's time has already been consumed by previously booked activities, which are either routed or remain in the parent bucket.

    But in order to try and minimise operational costs through travel, I was hoping that there is a way that we can return "preferential" options to our booking system based on where previous activities have been booked.

     

    So for illustration... 

    On Monday we have 3 activities booked for Location A

    On Tuesday we have 3 activities booked for Location B

     

    A new customer requires an appointment at Location A. 

    Based on Quota and resource capacity, we are still able to offer either Monday or Tuesday to the customer. From my experience so far, both days will be returned to our booking system with no indication to say it would actually be more preferable to book the activity for Monday as our resource will already be in Location A on that day.

     

    Ultimately, we can attend to the customer on either day, but from an efficiency perspective, it makes more sense for us to suggest Monday to the customer.

     

    I hope that illustration makes sense. 

     

    My question would be, are there any experienced users in the community who have tackled this challenge when using capacity? If so, can you share potential options?

    Looking forward to a response on this one.

    Hi OFSC Guru's

        Can any of the Guru's of OFSC tell, if there is any compatible tool's available to monitor OFSC like number activities for the complete day ( with the status transition) through which we can build customized reports, for better understanding. We need for Routing, how many routing plans have been run throughout the day in the form of % . WorkOrder per regions, As per i know we do not get the access to the OFSC DB so we can query the DB and get the results. If we can monitor the network, if OFSC is running slow. 

    Please provide some solution regarding this, as we need to monitor many of the fields.

    Routing Strategy among global bucket to Regional Buckets

    Our activities will be created from Sales Cloud. We have resource tree structure as explained in the thread: https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/cb56127664. Please can you guide about best approach about assignment of newly created activities in Field Service? The assignment will be based on a 3digit Region Code. That is we have regional buckets and whenever an activity will be created we will create it in some Global Bucket and after that we will run a routing profile to assign activities to Regional buckets. So when a regional manager will login he will see all the activities for his region which he will manually assign to his team. We are not having routing profiles for resources. Just regional buckets should get the activities.

    I am trying to evaluate Oracle field service cloud for the out of the box functionalities, its limitations and customization options. So far i know following:

    Features:

    • Activity Setup & Management
    • Inventory & Resource setup
    • Forecasting
    • Routing rules
    • Mobile application
    • Notifications ability

    Customizations :

    No real customization option available other than plugin which is just like calling outbound webservice.

    Limitations:

    • Limited to 04 entities only.
    • Cannot define custom entity
    • Cannot mention which services items technician is going to deploy on the customer site (e.g. Activity to Service Items relation: 1:M)
    • Cannot write script behind custom buttons

    Best practice for resource tree setup

    We are configuring our field service application for one of our client. Please advise about best practice i should follow to setup resource tree for  the activities management. The details for the company and its business as follows:

    • Company has multiple locations word wide
    • Each location/country manages its own operations
    • Each location/country is divided into regions (say reg01, reg02, .. reg0n)
    • Each region is managed by a Regional Manager (RM)
    • Each RM has its team of field resources (Driver, technician etc)
    • Each RM has trucks which dispatches for work along with driver, technician etc
    • When the truck goes on field to work it also uses inventory
    • Sometimes one truck is send or sometime more than one.
    • AM also wanted to see how much capacity he has in a point in time. Its free and occupied resources.

    Please advise how to setup my resource tree to accomplish above in a flexible way. Thank you.

    Hi,

    Is there any possibility of capacity reservation in OFSC. The requirement is to release capacity in continuous fashion based on the usage.

    For example, If capacity has to be reserved for 25/Feb starting 18/Feb then while during get_Capacity using Capacity Management API it should give only 60% of the allocated capacity in minutes. Later if the capacity consumption is increased by 22/Feb, user should be able to increase the release of capacity to 90% and so on...

    Requirement 2: Is there possibility of Overbooking in OFSC. While performing get_Capacity using Capacity Management API, whether OFSC can send more than allocated quota(e.g. allocated = 480 mins/per day for each capcity category & time slot) then will it be possible for OFSC for respond with more available capacity 1000 mins/day for each capacity category and time slots combination.?
