A question regarding the automated routing for field service
    Summary:
How does the system automate the routing of activities for field service?
    Content:

    Hello everyone,

I am new to learning about Oracle Field Service and I have a question if possible. When the system generates an automated routing for activities and designates those activities to the field agents, does the system take the pending activities that are not yet assigned to any agent? Or does the user define the activities and then the system generates the automated routing?

I am reading about the field service and using the demo. From the videos I saw there is a screen for routing but in the demo the Route screen is not found. Is it because the demo version for the field service is 18c and not the newer version?

    Thank you,

    AutoRouting: limit resource time1

    AutoRouting: limit resource time
    Summary:
How do I limit the time of a resource to two random days?
    Content:

    Hi!

For the current support I'm providing, I have to enable AutoRouting in Field Service Cloud. I've got two types of resources: resources that for level 1 maintenance and level 2 maintenance. Since the L2 maintenance resources are more expensive, I can only use them for two days. It doesn't matter if that's a Mo-Tu, or Mo & Fr, or any other combination: just two days. L1 engineers have full availability and should be planned first.

Is there any way that I can set this restriction? Help is much appreciated!

    Cheers!

    Hi Gurus,

In routing baseline setting, what ever values put in the savings is always negative. How to make the savings positive?

Can anyone share your tips or what could be done to make values positive.

    Thanks,

    Madhu

If you haven't got stuck into the functionality of the new form logic that came with 19A yet, it's well worth it!

Just finished up a small development for a client where I wanted to back out my custom plugin development and make full use of it, and it's worked flawlessly. The technicians are now able to draw, sketch, comment and generally enhance the data volume and quality of site data they capture without hardware or connectivity limitations.

I re-purposed the signature capture as a 'sketch' pad for back-of-the-cigarette-packet drawing, and I love the new draw on photo feature, modelled by Toy Story 4 and my awe-struck daughter! With a small ICS integration, I was able to poll the subscription and move the valuable data into OSvC for > 90 day retention, and with a DBaaS replication to OAC we can even do sentiment and clustering analysis on the measurable data captured. Oracle Cloud has never felt more connected.

Hopefully, we'll get some feature detection ML in OAC in the future and then who knows what we could do with all of those images!

Attached some shots of it in action

    1. is it no longer possible to have more complicated recurrence with calendars entries? for example repeat for every weekday with the repeat weekly option that we had before (screenshot).

    2. cant we delete a calendar entry? I only see option to edit

    Default values in Form Editor2

    Title:
    Default values in Form Editor
    Summary:
Setting a default service window or time slot in the Add Activity screen
    Content:

I'm attempting to identify how to set a default value for "time slot" for activities created using the add activity screen in mobility.

Some of our workforce use an in-house developed app to manage their jobs, and this app has a mandatory requirement for a service window value in the activity.  Failure for this to be set causes issues with the app.

To prevent this a default value for "time slot" appears to be a simple solution, but I cannot get this to populate in OFSC.

Does anyone have experience of what is the correct format this default value? The time slot I want to use is called 08:00-16:00

    Thanks

Difference between Company profile and personal profile in...2

Difference between Company profile and personal profile in Statistics
    Summary:
Trying to understand the difference between Company profile and personal profile in Statistics
    Content:

    Hello everyone,

Again sorry to post yet another question. But as I am new to Oracle Field Service and I am reading the documentation for the application but I don't yet have a clear idea between Company profile and personal profile in the Statistics screen. Can anyone give me an answer regarding the following questions please?

1- When it comes to estimation by the system via statistics in regards to duration there are two types that the system considers, Company profile and Personal profile. For the company profile, the section Activity duration stats fields contain two fields to define which are Length and a functional parameter. What is the purpose of both fields? Is the length entered which is between 0-99 takes into account, if for example, I entered 5, that the application takes the first 5 durations then adds them and divides by 5? What is the purpose of the functional parameter? I can see values such as "Animal is secured" so what does this value have to do with the field and length?

2- When it comes to the personal profile, I cannot find the field Initial ratio for Activity Duration in the Resources and buckets information screen when selecting a resource. Can anyone tell me more about it please?

    Thank you :)
