    Hi Todd,

    You can use daily extracts feature for this. Enable "Type Lists" in the list of available entities. Ensure you add the list of fields after adding the entity. You might also want to add "Activity Type Group ID" which can give you the classification of activity type i.e. Internal, etc.

    I'm not sure which activity purging you are referring too. From what I know there are 2:

    1. FTP data is purged every 10 days - see the following article:

    2. Overall transaction data retention in OFSC is 92 days by default. (i.e. 3 calendar months) keeping in line with PCI-DSS standards. This is documented in 2 separate places in an Oracle document titled: "Oracle Field Service Cloud System Architecture & Hosting 2017". There is a client facing version of this document I have seen, which I obtained from Oracle. I suggest contacting Oracle Sale/Presales, partner people or perhap support, as I could not find a copy on the this portal. 

    Also note that in the TOA days this "92 days" could be changed when requested, I'm not sure if this is still the case with Oracle, but the wording in the document "by default" suggests that it might be possible.

    Lastly here is an extract from one of the references in the document:

    Data Storage

    Oracle Field Service Cloud is not considered the system of record for historic data.

    As a standard practice, Oracle limits retention of data within the core application to 92 days/three calendar months as recommended by PCI-DSS, ISO and other standards. Oracle provides a data warehouse extract on a daily basis, allowing the customer to load the data and events from OFSC into its own data warehouse for ad hoc reporting, analysis, and long-term storage.

    The OFSC Outbound API also provides real-time updates for events within OFSC, enabling the capture of changes in work order source systems as soon as they occur.

    Hello Shankar,

    Work skills are not defined on inbound in the 'Work Skills' field. Rather OFSC 'calculates' the work skills using the defined work skills and conditions. When an activity gets added to OFSC the system uses the work skills and work skill conditions to scan the data of that activity and determine which skills to apply. Under Configuration > Work Skills you will find what is needed to create a work skill. Step 1 is to create the work skill and give it a name and label. The next step is under the 'Work Skill Conditions' tab. Here you can indicate which fields indicate that that the work skill needs to be applied. 

    For example, I have 2 work skills: Install and VIP Install

    In OFSC I create the following work skills and their associated conditions:

    1) Work Skill: Instal; Work Skill Condition: Activity Type 'in' Install

    2) Work Skill: VIP install; Work Skill Condition: Activity Type 'in' Install & VIP 'in' yes

    When new activity enters OFSC the system will look at the appropriate fields to determine which work skill should be applied. The link below contains a section 'About Work Skills' which will explain in more detail.

    For custom properties created we need to use {pr_propertylabel}. "pr_" is the prefix to use.

    {pr_oco_number} in your scenario.

    Also if the property is of Enum type then use  the prefix {prnum_}

    Hi Prashant,

    I'm also unable to reach that goal with the elements which you like to use. This settings have some priority logic behind.

    As a workaround I propose to put a "Break" internal activity with 3 hours duration and starting time is between 12:00-12:05 into that shift.

    While not having any experience with OFSC myself, I could give you some tips.

    1. Apply for a demo at (this will give you the opportunity to test ideas without having an angry supervisor disturbing you) :-)
    2. Apply for OPN (Oracle Partner) workshops, usually free of charge when doing online (depending on which level OPN your company has)
      These and other events can be found on the Oracle EMEA Partner Enablement Calender
    3. Participate in the Field Service Cloud forum board and pretend you are solving customer cases, this will not only improve your skills but also helps others :-)

    Hello, It is not possible to see activities which are unassigned or in the bucket on the time view. Time view is designed to show activities which are scheduled and have a designated position in a route. By default activities which are not assigned to not have a specific time to be seen, and furthermore are grouped with many other activities in the bucket which would make them hard to display on a timeline.     Hi Timoteo,

                    According to my understanding we do not have any filter in OFSC  which could be filter out the Linked activity.

                   But there could be a workaround to this problem, you could create a read-only property "Linked" during the activity creation if you are linking the activities and add the following property in the List View column of Screen Config . The added field would be visible at the List View distinguishing the activities from one-another .

    This is possible via "Activate Route" and "Deactivate Route". Also you can use Calendars and shifts to not assign activities outside the working hours.

    Hi Paul,

    There is the filter field choice available known as "Pending Activity Order" which can be found at the bottom of the enumeration listing under "Other" group.

    A filter configuration of Field: "Pending Activity Order" + Condition: "Not In" + Value: "1" will isolate those activities which are the next pending ordered activity (i.e. first pending ordered activity of any pending ordered activities on the route).

    If you include this condition as part of the Reoptimization Filter that identifies which activities can be reoptimized, it should help protect them from being moved in most cases (no 100% guarantee because there are cost results that can still encourage Routing to sacrifice the activity).

    There is a daily extract API in the CORE REST API, that you can use to download the daily extracts.

    As for SFTP, I believe this was deprecated a couple of versions ago.

    If you look up in the Knowledge base, you'd find out that TLS 1.2 is the only safe and supported Security Layer in OFSC, neither SSL is supported. For more info please have a look at

    Is there any tools available? Our client wants to configure up to 1,000 Work Zones within the Workzone dictionary based on Australia Bureau of Statistics Postcode and locality. I have the raw data but was wondering if there is any smart way to import it to OFSC Core Manage.

    Hope you're well. (I'm assuming you're the same Jeff who was on the OFSC Melbourne Bootcamp I trained last year?)

    Good question, there's been a bunch of new metadata endpoints added to the REST API in the latest release, one of which is specifically for this job:

    I've managed to hack together some ways of batch uploading to OFSC in the past using SOAP and REST, feel free to drop me an email if you get stuck. There are lots of different ways to go about it from coding something yourself through to using ETL tools, but there's no standard Oracle offering for data upload (yet). I've heard it's on the roadmap, but I'm not certain.

    Hi Claus,

    There is an option for Activity history under Configuration -> Display. Under Monitored Activity Fields section you can add/remove fields.

    If the value is changed under this field by user or OFSC an entry is created in the History section. You can try removing a few fields or add according to your business case.

    Hi Shilpa,

    I agree with Zsolt and can add some more, where possible go with the REST APIs.

    Oracle have been adding the REST API for sometime now, and this is because this is the standard Oracle API protocol. (I heard this from product management if memory serves correct).  Hence you will see more and more REST API's added, some to replicate/replace the existing SOAP APIs (where possible), but also adding new functionality (metadata API). I don't think you will see any new SOAP APIs though. I too agree that there are some SOAP API's like Inbound and Outbound that may be around for the long term.

    The following article is a list of the current API's for the product and which also documents which ones are going to be (or have been) deprecated and removed. This article is updated from time to time, as the list of APIs grows and/or announcements are made about deprecation and removal. You will note all deprecations except 1 are SOAP API's.
