    REST queryResults Resource/Endpoint Not WorkingAnswered155.0

    Title:
    REST queryResults Resource/Endpoint Not Working
    Content:

    I'm trying to run a ROQL tabular query with the REST queryResults resource/endpoint. According to the documentation, I should be able to do this, but...ain't workin', even when I copy-and-paste the example directly out of the documentation.

    One peculiarity I've noticed is if I hit

    https://mysite.example.com/services/rest/connect/v1.3/queryResults/
    ?query=select id,subject from incidents where id<=10;

    (query from the documentation) there's an extraneous space in between the last slash and the question mark...which may be an artifact of the line break. If I leave it, I get a 200 OK...but no results. If I take it out, I get a 400 Bad Request. Neither result is useful.

    I'm trying to do this on Feb '16. Is there a bug in this REST resource, is something missing from the documentation, or is some other thing going on? Anyone dealt with/resolved this before?

    RESTFUL Bulk Delete Incident AttachmentsAnswered13

    Title:
    RESTFUL Bulk Delete Incident Attachments
    Summary:
    Is there a method to bulk delete attachments from incidents?
    Content:

    Referencing the API Guide I was able to figure out how to delete attachments from individual incidents. For example

    curl -k -H 'OSvC-CREST-Application-Context:Delete incident attachments' -X DELETE "https://rest_user:xxxxxxxx@acme--tst.custhelp.com/services/rest/connect/v1.3/incidents/15339/fileAttachments/169050"

    I was curious if anyone know's of a way to perform a bulk delete of attachments but preserve the incident?

    Thanks

    Mike

    API to update custom objects gives 403 Forbidden error
    Content:

    We have set these two configurations settings correctly for our domain:

    SEC_PAPI_INTEG_HOSTS_REST

    PAPI_CORS_DOMAIN_LIST

    We have given a user specifically set up permissions for our custom objects and have also tried with a full admin account.

    We keep getting 403 Forbidden error which shows OSC-CREST-00028 You are forbidden to access this site.

    REST API - analyticsReportResults return nested JSON format95.0

    Title:
    REST API - analyticsReportResults return nested JSON format
    Content:

    Does anyone know if it is possible to change the format / nesting of the JSON as returned by the analyticsReportResults function of the REST api?

    Ideally we want something like:

    {
    "Report1":
    [
    "Column1":"value",
    "Column2":"value"

    "Subreport1":[
    "Column3":"value",
    "Column4":"value"
    ]
    }

    ]
    }

    If not possible using the Analytics report function would there be any other way to achieve it using the REST API?

    Thanks, David

    Freeboard with REST API9

    Freeboard with REST API
    Content:

    Does anyone have any experience using Freeboard with the Rest API.

    This could be a very powerful and economical way to build web dashboard outside of Oracle for use on readerboard, executives, etc, without the overhead and license needed for the client.

    I can't figure out how to get freeboard to authenticate with the Rest API.

    Giving an Account Permissions to Access the REST APIAnswered8

    Giving an Account Permissions to Access the REST API
    Summary:
    What is the setting in the console that allows a user to access the REST API?
    Content:

    Hi,

    What is the setting to allow a user to access the REST API? We currently have one admin account that is able to do it, but wish to create a second one that will be used exclusively for automated scripts. As far as I can tell both accounts are identical (both admin accounts), but only one of them is able to use the API. The other account receives an error that they are not authorized.

    I'm sure it's a simple setting, but helping me locate it in the Oracle labyrinth would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Thanks,

    Carl

    I'm doing a javascript example in what seems an example created in 2016. I followed the instructions but I get an undefined error. The constructed URL does work in the browser. Is it possible that there is an error in the sample code (or that url calls may have changed?)

    Getting all Incident Threads in one call via REST?Answered8
    Topic posted February 7, 2017 by Michel JilderdaBlue Ribbon: 750+ Points, tagged REST
    Title:
    Getting all Incident Threads in one call via REST?
    Content:

    Hi all,
    we are building a separate webpage where we want to show incident details on an external webpage. While we have built this before using SOAP, we are using the REST API now. One of the things we run into is this:
    With a SOAP request, it was possible to get all incident threads in 1 soap call.

    With the REST API there does not seem to be a way to do this in 1 call. So what we need to do to show the threads is a lot of calls to the API, which causes delay in loading the page.

    These are the calls we do now. We have the incident reference number to start with, so this is the sequence of calls to the REST API.

    1. Get incident ID for reference number
      https://{{siteURL}}/services/rest/connect/v1.3/incidents/?q=lookupName='{{exampleIncidentRefno}}'
    2. Get Incident details
      https://{{siteURL}}/services/rest/connect/v1.3/incidents/{{exampleIncidentID}}
    3. Get Threads for Incidents
      https://teamcx-uk.custhelp.com/services/rest/connect/v1.3/incidents/{{exampleIncidentID}}/{{exampleThreadID}}
    4. Now we can loop through all the threads.
    5. Now, to populate the threads with the correct account names, we also need to get all the account names for the threads again.

    Again, for SOAP this was a lot easier. Are we missing something? Is there a way to pull this from REST as well without doing 10+calls to get all incident details?
