Smartview reports include disabled CCID data or not?1

    Title:
Smartview reports include disabled CCID data or not?
    Summary:
Our Smartview reports were out of balance after removing the check mark on "Enabled" in "Manage Account Combinations" for some CCIDs back in 2016.
    Content:

In 2016, after we unchecked the "Enabled" box in "Manage Account Combinations" for several code combinations, our Smartview reports were out-of-balances.  To correct the Smartview reporting issues, we did the following:

    • Re-checked the "Enabled" box
    • Put an End Date on "To Date" on those code combinations
    • Checked "Preserved Attributes"

Due to this finding, we either run "Inherit Segment Value Attributes" or manually enter End Date in "To Date"and check "Preserve Attributes" in "Manage Account Combinations" to disable the CCIDs.

Recently we created a new CVR for the interest income accounts in test pod, then ran "Manage Cross-Validation Rule Violations".  The process removed the check mark from "Enabled" and checked "Preserve Attributes" for all those invalid code combinations in "Manage Account Combinations".

I compared the Aug-2019 Smartview P&L reports between production & test pods and they were matched but not Sep-2019.  The Sep-2019 difference was in the interest income section. I do not know if the difference was due to timing difference (additional entries posted in production pod subsequent to the P2T in test pod) or the Smartview reports continue to exclude "Disabled" CCID data.

Does anyone know if Oracle has corrected this Smartview data issue in the later versions?

Can an AFF Segment Label/Name be defaulted dynamically?2

Can an AFF Segment Label/Name be defaulted dynamically?
    Summary:
    Business Unit default Segment Label/Name?
    Content:

    Hello,

Our client has an interesting requirement.  There are two groups of users, Private and Federal.  Each group uses the exact same chart of accounts segments (security rules to handle values) with one difference.  They would like to default the name of the account segment to be "Account" for Private and "Object" for Federal.  We are considering using Business Unit to default the name/label.

Is this possible?  Is there another way to do this?  We considered multiple charts of accounts but the client does not want that.  We could also name the segment "Account:Object" but that was not good enough.  Our industry can be particular at times and we would like to try to accommodate them.

    Thanks for your help.

    Steve

The dashboards folder on our system is empty.  I have seen references to a Collections dashboard on the forum, and this would be of interest to us.  Have they been recently deprecated, do they need to be loaded and enabled?

When I try to create a contract, there aren't BU to insert in the BU field
    Content:

    Hi,

I want to create a contract but when I try to create a contract in the Contract Work Area, The System doesn't show any business unit, any legal entity, any contract Type even thought I've already created BU, Legal Entity and Contract Types.

I've already assign "Enterprise Contract Administrator/Manager" role with BU Data access and I've already enable the user with this role as a resource.

Have you an idea to solve this problem?

    Thank u very much

    Summary:
Oracle Will Not Support Internet Explorer 11 After Update 19D
    Content:

Oracle Will Not Support Internet Explorer 11 After Update 19D.Since the release of Microsoft's Edge browser in 2015, Internet Explorer (IE) has not added support for many modern web standards, nor has this browser received major updates. Therefore, with Fusion Applications Update 19D, Oracle will no longer provide support for IE. Please see Microsoft's Lifecycle FAQs - Internet Explorer and Edge for more information.

Oracle goal is to utilize the most modern web standards to deliver an exceptional customer experience, and for that reason, Oracle made the decision to end IE support. Oracle recommend you choose one of their supported modern browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari or Mozilla Firefox.

Please note that while you can still technically use IE11, Oracle will not deliver fixes that are specific to IE11, and will begin introducing features that may not work with IE11.

    Thanks!

Hide bank accounts (***123), based on user rolesAnswered5

    Title:
Hide bank accounts (***123), based on user roles
    Summary:
Need to partially mask a bank account number based on the user role on ERP
    Content:

    Greetings,

We are facing an interesting customer request. Customer wants to have the hability to partially hide a bank number on an ERP screen, based on the user role.

This is something similar as when a credit card is used on a web site, and its is showed as Account: *******123, being only the last 3 digits visible. This fucntionality should work based on the use role (assuming we use standard ERP roles)

    - A CFO will have full visibility (aka Account: 45678123)

    - A manager or an analyst will have partial visibility (aka *****123)

Rationale: bank account numbers are highly sensitive information, and should be partially visible (i.e. to make payments or cash transfers), to specific persons.

Any idea of how to acomplish this? We are evaluating Oracle products such as data masking, but those are not giving us what  the customer needs. This feature, may be also appplied to Bank branch, or other similar sensitive fields.

Your feedback will be higly appreciated

    DV
