    Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty
    Summary:
Trying to hide seeded reporting folders and understand the updated options within 19D
    Content:

We are keen to have the option to hide seeded folders from users. Changing permissions on seeded report folders comes up with the following error:

"In-place customizations are not allowed on factory delivered content. Save your customizations in /shared/custom"

    ***

We were really pleased therefore to see the following release notes for 19D:

    https://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/tutorial/cloud/r13/wn/common/releases/19D/19D-common-wn.htm#F10098

However, I am trying to understand how it works. Has anyone used these roles yet?

The BI Consumer role still has traverse permissions to these seeded folders, therefore struggling to understand how assigning another role counters this.

Also - the Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty, which is the Duty Role that it is advised we edit put into a role and assign, is unable to be copied. Is this what people would expect?

If anyone can give any further detail on how this works, it would be much appreciate. Keen to lock down some of these seeded reporting folders.

    Kind regards,

    Sian.

    Content:

    Hello

I want to be able to extract a list of all OTBI and BI reports and their folder locations, and also who/when the report was last run. (I want to make sure I am aware of all reports we currently have, and want to perform a housekeeping exercise of whats being used/not)

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind Regards

BI Publisher Report as Cloud Data Extract engine2

    Title:
BI Publisher Report as Cloud Data Extract engine
    Summary:
Use of Report as Cloud Data Extract engine and keep track of extracted data/ record
    Content:

Cloud Integration process where data is extracted and sent via FTP to other partner applications.

If this process is performed on a scheduled basis (or manual run) then it becomes difficult to find out which records were extracted earlier and where are NOT? Other mechanisms are used to remove already extracted records from being sent twice.

Could we perform the following steps:

#01: BIP Report is given the capability (similar to EBS) to update some DFF fields (not other fields) from the source tables (data being pulled) to update and store them so that next run could validate and exclude these records. This should be kept as datatime field so that it can keep track of when the data was pulled. In addition, if the record was updated then the record should be pulled second time in BIP. This could be performed on Datatime and "Last_Update_date" comparison.

#02: ATOM configuration could accommodate custom BI Publisher reports so that one can create reports and send via ATOM audit structure to FTP / emial

Two Pivot Tables with Different Values

Two Pivot Tables with Different Values
    Content:

    Hi

I am trying to contain a report that has two pivot tables in it but with different parameters to restrict the results. I am pulling in the Expenditure Type column and want to restrict it by Expenditure Category. I want one table to show Expenditure Types by the 'Labour' value from Expenditure Category and the other table to show Expenditure Types without the 'Labour' value. Now, I can do this but only for one table, if I create another table it automatically restricts it to 'Labour' and if I change it then it changes table 1 to whatever I have changed table 2 too. Is there anyway I can manipulate the selection steps or filter the column so this conflict doesn't occur ?

    Extracting Configuration Options via OBIEE1

    Extracting Configuration Options via OBIEE
    Content:

    Hi All

I've been asked to try and export the configuration options of expenses (Setup and Maintenance > Manage Policies By Expense Category). Now, I can export the expenses into a report easily, but can't seem to grab the configuration options for each individual expense (not sure if it is even possible!). I've attached an image to show what I am trying to export (basically everything on the image, so Rate Definitions, Rate Determinants etc.) If it is possible, how would I go about doing this?

    Hi

In order to utilize the full capability of Oracle Reporting (OTBI), do we need to purchase the Data Warehouse? We are currently under the impression that we are only able to access 'real-time' subject areas. Other subject areas that we use give us a connection pool error.

    Thanks

    OTBI Security Help
    Content:

    Hi All,

We are deploying some reports to production for the HR team to use. We are confused with the way the security works in regards to the reports. Ideally, we want to be able to assign a custom role to employees so they can view certain reports (e.g HR Level 1 can see an Assignment Change Report, Contact Details Change Report etc. whilst a HR Level 5 role can see All Employee Details, All Salaries etc.). Can this be done?

In addition, do the Areas of Responsibility affect what the user can see when they run a report? For example, we have some employees who can only see Sector X information. If they ran a report, would they also be able to see Sector Y and Sector N information?

    Thank you for reading!

    SQL IS NULL error3

    SQL IS NULL error
    Content:

    Hi

We're trying to create multiple reports where we want to bring back a column with no data in (e.g. Missing Bank Details where the employee does not have a bank account number). When we run the report without a filter, we get back all the results as expected (records who have bank details and records who do not have bank details). When we apply the IS NOT NULL filter, we get back all the results as expected; records whom have bank details. However, when we apply the IS NULL filter, we get an error and don't get back any results when we should be getting back around 300.

Currently we're having to run the report without a filter and then apply filters in excel to find out which records are missing bank details. Is there any other formula we could try other than IS NULL?
