    What is catalog folder Extension?
    Summary:
Does anyone know the purpose of the empty shared folder Extension in the catalog?
    Content:

    The folder is empty.

A duty role exists for it, BI_EXT_REPORTING_DUTY, but unlike the other folders, the permissions on this folder have not been updated so that only people with that role see this folder.

I had been doing the following configuration to assign folder reporting duty roles to role

    Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty

CONFIGURE NEW BI REPORTING DUTY ROLES TO HIDE THE FACTORY CATALOG FOLDERS

    Convert Date Field
    Summary:
    Convert from MM/DD/YYYY to YYYY-Qx
    Content:

    Hello,

I have a date field I want to convert. I want to convert that from MM/DD/YYY to "YYYY-Qx". Any thoughts on how to do this? I've tried using the Calendar functions in the formula. They work, but don't get me the exact above format. I have to use two separate columns. One gets the quarter number so, in the example above, it would just say "1". The other column I'm able to get the year "2020". When I try do a Concat in the 3rd column, I get syntax error b/c I think it doesn't like to concatenate formulas apparently. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Stephanie

    Future Dated Activities1

    Title:
    Future Dated Activities
    Summary:
Show me only the Opportunities that don't have a future dated activity added
    Content:

    Hello,

I'm struggling to think through how to do this. Here is the business problem we are trying to solve: We want our sales people to always have at least one activity tied to the opportunity that has a date in the future. They can have many activities on an opportunity with dates in the past, dates in the future, or no date at all. I would like to show my sales leaders the opportunities that don't have a future activity at all or is blank. Here is what I've tried so far:

    CASE WHEN "Activity"."Due Date"> Current_Date then COUNT(DISTINCT "Sales - CRM Pipeline"."Pipeline Facts"."# of Opportunities") else 0 end

When I do this and the sales leaders filter on just the '0', they may be looking at opportunities that actually do have future dated activities on them (because remember, you can have many activities to one opportunity).

I've also tried creating an analysis that shows me all of the opportunities that do have a future dated activity and then using that as a filter on another analysis where the opportunity ID does not equal one on that list. That doesn't seem to be working either because the seller may have opportunities with past or current date that won't show on that list because they also have a future date. Does that make sense?

Basically, if you can't tell, I might just need help thinking through the best solution to this. I've spent hours on this and I fear the answer is very simple and right in front of my face but I can't seem to grasp it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Stephanie

Get privilege to issue logical SQL in OTBIAnswered21.0

Get privilege to issue logical SQL in OTBI
    Summary:
As a developer i need to "Issue SQL" /analytics/saw.dll?issuerawsql to query using logical sql metadata repository database (rpd) with log level 2 then view log for diagnostics like physical sql
    Content:

    Hi,

Does anyone know if in Oracle Cloud Application, we are oracle cloud application 19B(11.13.19.04.0) with oracle business intelligence 11g (11.1.1.9.0), does a role exist that has been granted privilege "Admin:General"/"Issue SQL Directly" by person with bi administration privileges who went to the Administration menu then the page "Manage Privileges" to assign that privilege to a role. Our development team who are writing extensions using oracle transaction business intelligence (OTBI) real time subject areas, to be productive, need the ability to issue logical sql, view results with the log level set > 0, then view the log file with rich diagnostics like timings and row counts and the actual physical sql. To achieve this on onpremise projects the administrator had granted the above role to developers. We assume that the bi administrator role is not allowed to be granted in cloud therefore we can not set this up ourselves. In Navigator/Tools/Security Console I have assigned the following roles "BI Consumer Role", "BI Platform Author Role", "BI Publisher Data Model" and even "BI Platform Repository Manager" and "Business Intelligence Content Administrator" but none of these give me the "Administration" menu in /analytis/ nor the ability just to go to "issue sql" saw.dll?issuerawsql or even "Manage Sessions" saw.dll?sessions. Thanks, Nathan

    Title:
    Future Dated Activities
    Summary:
Show Opportunities with Future Dated Activities tied to them
    Content:

I posted this to the Reporting and Analytics for Engagement Cloud forum but I don't have great luck there so I'm putting it out here too.

    Hello,

Our Sales Leaders require our Seller's to have at least one future dated activity on each opportunity.

Business problem we are trying to solve:

“Show me all of the opportunities that don’t have any future dated activities tied to them”.

I created a report and am using this Case When Statement to show all of the future dated activities on an opportunity.

    CASE WHEN "Activity"."Due Date"> Current_Date then "Sales - CRM Pipeline"."Pipeline Facts"."# of Opportunities" else 0 end

The problem I'm running into is this: If I filter on just the zeroes, that would make it seem like Michael Johnson doesn’t have any future dated activities at all (see attached example). But he does. Any ideas on how I can show only the opportunities that only have zeroes and don’t have any 1’s?

If anybody has a better way to get at this information, I'm open to alternatives. If anybody has ideas about how to fix my current solution, I am open to those as well.

    Thanks,

    Stephanie

R13.19C Introducing OTBI Metadata Independent Mode Using BI...55.0

    Title:
R13.19C Introducing OTBI Metadata Independent Mode Using BI Cloud Connector (BICC)
    Summary:
Opt in to use the OTBI Metadata Independent Extract Mode in BICC introduced in R13.19C.
    Content:

    What is the Change?

Starting in Release 13.19C, BICC will no longer be dependent on the OTBI metadata repository, and the extract mode by default will use the OTBI metadata independent mode. Data Stores (or BIVOs) can be extracted independent of OTBI Metadata (RPD). The new BIVOs introduced in future releases of Oracle Applications Cloud will use OTBI metadata independent mode. The new mode eliminates the dependency on the existence of a BIVO in the OTBI metadata.

How to Opt In to use the OTBI Metadata Independent Mode for Extraction?

Refer to the attached document for detailed steps to opt in.

    Future Product Direction

The OTBI metadata (RPD) dependent mode is going to be deprecated in Release 20C. Oracle Development strongly recommends that you switch your BICC extracts to use OTBI metadata independent mode by 20C. Refer to the attached document for more detailed information.  If you have further questions, contact Oracle Support.
