    Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty5

    Title:
    Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty
    Summary:
Trying to hide seeded reporting folders and understand the updated options within 19D
    Content:

We are keen to have the option to hide seeded folders from users. Changing permissions on seeded report folders comes up with the following error:

"In-place customizations are not allowed on factory delivered content. Save your customizations in /shared/custom"

    ***

We were really pleased therefore to see the following release notes for 19D:

    https://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/tutorial/cloud/r13/wn/common/releases/19D/19D-common-wn.htm#F10098

However, I am trying to understand how it works. Has anyone used these roles yet?

The BI Consumer role still has traverse permissions to these seeded folders, therefore struggling to understand how assigning another role counters this.

Also - the Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty, which is the Duty Role that it is advised we edit put into a role and assign, is unable to be copied. Is this what people would expect?

If anyone can give any further detail on how this works, it would be much appreciate. Keen to lock down some of these seeded reporting folders.

    Kind regards,

    Sian.

    What is catalog folder Extension?
    Summary:
Does anyone know the purpose of the empty shared folder Extension in the catalog?
    Content:

    The folder is empty.

A duty role exists for it, BI_EXT_REPORTING_DUTY, but unlike the other folders, the permissions on this folder have not been updated so that only people with that role see this folder.

I had been doing the following configuration to assign folder reporting duty roles to role

    Custom BI Webcat Reporting Duty

CONFIGURE NEW BI REPORTING DUTY ROLES TO HIDE THE FACTORY CATALOG FOLDERS

Get privilege to issue logical SQL in OTBIAnswered21.0

Get privilege to issue logical SQL in OTBI
    Summary:
As a developer i need to "Issue SQL" /analytics/saw.dll?issuerawsql to query using logical sql metadata repository database (rpd) with log level 2 then view log for diagnostics like physical sql
    Content:

    Hi,

Does anyone know if in Oracle Cloud Application, we are oracle cloud application 19B(11.13.19.04.0) with oracle business intelligence 11g (11.1.1.9.0), does a role exist that has been granted privilege "Admin:General"/"Issue SQL Directly" by person with bi administration privileges who went to the Administration menu then the page "Manage Privileges" to assign that privilege to a role. Our development team who are writing extensions using oracle transaction business intelligence (OTBI) real time subject areas, to be productive, need the ability to issue logical sql, view results with the log level set > 0, then view the log file with rich diagnostics like timings and row counts and the actual physical sql. To achieve this on onpremise projects the administrator had granted the above role to developers. We assume that the bi administrator role is not allowed to be granted in cloud therefore we can not set this up ourselves. In Navigator/Tools/Security Console I have assigned the following roles "BI Consumer Role", "BI Platform Author Role", "BI Publisher Data Model" and even "BI Platform Repository Manager" and "Business Intelligence Content Administrator" but none of these give me the "Administration" menu in /analytis/ nor the ability just to go to "issue sql" saw.dll?issuerawsql or even "Manage Sessions" saw.dll?sessions. Thanks, Nathan

is there a report or how to create one that displays all the existing OTBI/PUBLISHER reports ?
    Content:
    Hello,
We would like to know if there is an existing report in Oracle BI PUBLISHE/OTBI that display a list of all the
existing reports ? for example if we have a managers report , and employees report - to list them .
List of reports and their location , and if possible the fields displayed for each report.
Is there an existing build in report like the above?
if not - what would be the best way to create such a repot? (is there a subject area )
    Thanks ,
    Revital

Use ESS to run a BI Publisher job that transmits reports via SFTP
    Summary:
Is it possible to use ESS execute a BI Publisher job will transmits reports via SFTP?
    Content:

We have built some Custom Reports in BI Publisher that extract data to a CSV file using a simple SQL script.
This is scheduled running every hour and automatically transmits the file to a vendor's SFTP Server.

However, I'm wondering if its possible to call these jobs from the Enterprise Scheduler (ESS) so that we can maintain it from there?
Is this possible? I don't see any option for ESS jobs to transmit reports to a external SFTP server.

    Please advise.

How to create a custom read online role to allow users to self serve reports that are segregated
    Content:

    Hi All

I am struggling to get to grips with one area of reporting and that is allowing users to self serve some key reports we have but I need them to be segregated to themselves/their own cost centre.

The reports I am looking to do is a procurement requester report I have build, and I want users to be able to see all POs that they have raised and are requester for. What custom role/seeded role is their so they can have a view of this report (I also want to pin this report onto there oracle homepage - is this possible?)

Another role I want to create is so that cost centre managers can see all POs raised to their cost centre only. How can I do this?

Finally I want to create a role for expenses where a manager can see a report of all expenses that their team (Line manager hierarchy) have raised. Is this easy to do?

    Thnx

    Contract Changes in HCM Cloud

    Title:
    Contract Changes in HCM Cloud
    Summary:
How to handle changes to contract using HCM Cloud
    Content:

Hi, We are using HCM Cloud and one of our areas we are falling down on is changes to peoples contracts I.e. changes to hours, location/job changes etc.

At present we do not have a facility setup for these changes to be sent automatically by letter to the employee. One option I have explored is creating a report to show those who have had changes in the past week and using a mail merge to send letters out. However this still requires manual intervention to run each week.

I was wondering if there is a facility on HCM Cloud to send out a new contract whenever new changes are made.

    Thanks

    Graeme
