oh ok I see where they are now.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "updating some of the standard widgets", but you have access to them through WebDAV. As I had mentioned earlier, the widgets are in the /euf/rightnow/widgets folder and can be copied from there into your custom widgets folder.

So I want to update some of the standard widgets because they display icons and I don't want the icons to display for the our solution.  How am I supposed to get access to the code to update it?

I'm having another problem with the extensions.

When I try and re-download the extension for our english site I'm getting errors. The error from the RightNow Admin console is

'An error occured when downloading the extension. You can download the extension from <URL>

"The remote server returned an error.(500) Internal Server error."

When I attempt downloading the extension directly from the Portal admin at ci/designer, I'm presented with a page full of code and the extension does not download.

I have no problems downloading and installing the extension for our french interface.  This poses a significant problem as we're upgraing to Nov 08 at 6AM EST tommorrow and I still need to make some changes to the english interface. Hopefully this is a problem related to the PC I'm using and my work PC won't have the same issue?

The MenuFilterDropdown widget will automatically key off the parameters in the URL. Is that not working, did you try it?
  • David Smith
Thanks Ernie. What is the best way to pass these product IDs from the menu URLs to the MenuFilterDropdown widget so that the widget is updated according to which menu product item is clicked?
  • Ernie Turner
Yes, I believe the ID will show up if you hover over the element in the tree in the admin console.
  • David Smith
Thanks for the reply Ernie. I am having trouble locating the IDs for my products and categories. Are these available in the RN Console somewhere?
  • Ernie Turner
Products and categories can be set as URL parameters by using the 'p' and 'c' segments, followed by the ID of the value you want selected. So, for example, if you're 'Budget' category has an ID of 6, then you could generate the same result by creating the URL http://texasamucfo.custhelp.com/app/answers/list/c/6.

    Hi Leif,

Thanks for your suggestion. Would you mind clarifying that? What sort of report would we want to reference? Would I build a new custom report? What would I want to include or omit in order to achieve the desired result?

    Thanks much!

  • Leif Wickland
    January,

You might try setting the report_id attribute on that widget to a value other than that of the report used by the search box.

Please let me know if you need more detail and if that works for you.

    Thanks,

When you get to the Message Base Menu, make sure you select RightNow.   After the screen comes up and you have the search box in the upper left hand corner, search for the SUBMIT_QUESTION_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT_CMD there.  Should display in the list below.
  • David Smith

Thanks, the first part worked. I deleted the table and now it is gone.

The second part is not working yet. I found the Message Base in the RN Admin Console and I did a search for SUBMIT_QUESTION_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT_CMD but found no results. I scrolled through everything manually and did not find it either. Any ideas? Maybe I need more permissions from my administrator? Thanks again.

    Domenic,

I'm not sure what's going on with your site. If you'd send me your site information (including credentials) via private message I'll take a look.

Another option is that you could try to determine in which of the copied widgets the problem exists by process of elimination and reporting back.

    Thanks,

If you want to remove certain parts of the ask page then you should delete the pieces out rather than using comment tags.  When you see a #rn:msg  tag, this means that the text for this is coming from a Message Base.  These are essentially variables that you can edit while logged into the RightNow Admin Console.   It's under Common Configuration-->System Configuration-->Message Bases.  If you do a search for SUBMIT_QUESTION_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT_CMD  you will be able to update the value there.
