We can view the contents of the dav folder using http://stellarsupport.custhelp.com/dav with the same username and password we're using to configure dreamweaver.

  • Ernie Turner
So just to confirm, can you hit http://stellarsupport.custhelp.com/dav in a browser window and log in fine there? Have you tried connecting using Windows Web Folders?

    1. Go to Site -> Manage Sites, find your site and hit 'Edit'. On the Advanced Tab, go to Testing Server. It should show a login and password box. Fill those out and hit the Test button. Does this return a success message?

This does not return a success message. It brings back the same error I mentioned earlier.

    2. In the bottom part of Dreamweaver there is a 'Results' pane which should have a 'FTP Log' tab on it. When you put in your password and get the error when trying to download files, it should start populating that pane with HTTP request traffic. Could you look at that traffic and see what reponse code the server is returning?

The FTP Log does not populate. When I try to download the files it immediately asks for my password. When I enter it in, it gives me the error and it does not do anything else.

    Thanks.

    Here's two things to try

    1. Go to Site -> Manage Sites, find your site and hit 'Edit'. On the Advanced Tab, go to Testing Server. It should show a login and password box. Fill those out and hit the Test button. Does this return a success message?

    Thanks.

We've already created the site, I followed the instructions line by line. I get the error when it wants to start downloading the files to my pc. It asks for my password; after I enter the password and click on Ok I get the error.

    Thanks

  • Ernie Turner
At what point in Dreamweaver are you getting this error? Have you created a site in Dreamweaver and are trying to get the files, or do you get this error when going to Commands->RightNow->Login to Rightnow?

We can get into http://stellarsupport.custhelp.com/ci/tags and we can see the files under http://stellarsupport.custhelp.com/dav/euf but we can't use Dreamweaver to download the files.

    We get the following error:

Cannot display the the remote folder: An HTTP WebDav error occured. Dreamweaver cannot get a listing for the folder you specified. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server, and the server is properly configured.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Your user id has a profile associated with it. That profile needs to have the WebDav checkbox checked in order for you to access the extension. Profiles are in the Common Administration console

If you can get into the tag gallery - http://<your site>/ci/tags

then you have the corrrect permissions

  • Ernie Turner
In order to log in to the Dreamweaver extension, all you need is the WebDav access bit set on your profile. The checkbox for this is in the Administration area of the Common tab on the Account Profile page. Let me know if that doesn't solve your problem.

Is the page that you are including the widget on the following server?
    http://FLL000188792.nac.ad.aexp.com/RTNWeb/ProxyServlet';

if not, as Kirk said, it has to be on the same server. In other words, the page and the proxy should be on the same server.

If this is still an issue please contact me directly.

I've seen that we have some example custom widgets, do we have any general documentation on the creation of custom widgets? (I hope I'm not repeating the questions!)

    Hey Andrew,

You can short-cut this process a little bit by communicating the following link to your external reviewers to take them directly to the development pages:

They'll need to login to these pages (using an account which has CP access as Ernie was outlining) - this may just be an account that you setup specifically for this purpose -  a generic 'reviewer' account that you add to the site.

    Hope that helps.

No, the updates wont be available until the 8.8 build and there is currently not a way to get a beta version of it.
  • Andrew Prentis
I've got a site currently upgraded to 8.5.0.1-b127h, would that have the required update? Is there a beta available for the absolute latest version?
  • Andrew Prentis
    Thanks for the explanation.

I was thinking it might be easier to set up an "entry page" that would simply set the location cookie and redirect back to the "front page" for someone who doesn't actually have an account on the system (eg letting an external client view the pages), however thats something I can probably do myself rather than messing about with the security model you've created.
