Number of record (data) limit in FBDI v/s ADFDi
    Summary:
Is there a predefined limit for number of records that can go to system while we upload data using FBDI or ADFDi ?
    Content:

    Hi Experts,

This questions is precisely from Procurement and Finance FBDI  and ADDFi prospective.

Is there a predefined limit for number of records (data) that we can use in FBDI and ADFDi while we upload the data using spreadsheet?  If yes, do we have any standard oracle document around this indicates this information?

Also, is there a setup hosted by Oracle that we can increase or decrease this limit ?

    Appreciate your help !!!

    Regards,

    Ujas

    Content:

    Hi,

As per the "Operation type" while creating the Maintenance Work Orders. It can be In-house or Supplier.

In the case of Operation Type = Supplier, Please help me with below queries:

    1. How outside processing will work for any operation in the Work order?
    2. Is there any documentation available for it.
    3. Also, how billing will be performed for the outside processing orders against work order
    4. How can we pay the supplier for the operation that has been performed? Is the cost going to be included into Work Order cost
    5. Or if the separate invoice will be created for billing the client

    Thanks

Can we create Maintenance Work orders for Projects
    Content:

    Hi,

I am trying to explore the functionality of creating Maintenance work orders for Projects.

I have a few questions for the same:

    1. Is it possible to create work orders and associate them with Project Information
    2. Also, how the cost of the work order will get transferred to Oracle Projects
    3. The time charged by Resource against any work order will go to Projects and then to OTL or it will directly go to OTL?

Please suggest how we can achieve the requirement of creating work orders against the project and billing the same.

    Thanks

Barcode Scanning Functionality in Oracle Maintenance Cloud
    Content:

    Hi,

I have checked into Oracle Maintainance CLoud and found that barcodes can be scanned during the Work Order execution. Now, as far as I know in Oracle Inventory scanning functionality is not available and that's why we need to integrate with RF Smart for enabling the scanning functionality.

    1. Since in Oracle Maintenance Cloud, I can see the "Scan" button so does it mean that RF Smart is not required for enabling the scanning functionality?
    2. Also, how the scanning will be done, any handheld device needs to be connected to the laptop? Or can be done using the app on the mobile phone.
    3. Also, when Maintenance cloud is getting accessed from Tablet than can the scanning will be done from Tablet and the part details will be entered directly in Oracle Maintenance.

    Thanks

How to capture the warranty of an Asset

    Content:

    Hi,

We want the capture the warranty of an asset. I have done the research and found that Oracle maintenance cloud does not have any functionality to capture the warranty information.

Also, I have been informed by Jennifer that warranty information could be captured by creating the DFFs for assets and then BI reports can be built to pull the asset warranty information from the system. While trying to create the DFF for an asset, I have found out that we cannot create the DFF for an asset as there is no functionality for it.

Please let me know how to achieve this requirement.

    Thanks

How to Check the Cost of an Asset

How to Check the Cost of an Asset
    Content:

    Hi,

We are looking for a solution to check the cost of an asset. Currently, my client is not maintaining the part/item details in the system and just have asset defined.

Therefore, they are maintaining the cost of the asset in their current system.

Now, while doing the research I found that an asset is associated with the item or parts list (basically group of items). I know that item cost can be checked from Cost Accounting,

    1. however, I am not sure how we can search the cost of an asset in Cost accounting.
    2. Also, could you please confirm if I can find the cost of an asset in Oracle maintenance module.
    3. Our client has confirmed that they are going to use actual costing method so the cost of the item would be the same as the purchase order

I am trying to suggest the solution but since currently our client is not maintaining the items and just using a paper-based PO for buying the material that's why they also did not find the use of having items. I have requested for the list of parts but as such, they don't have any data.

Do you think I should create their assets as items in PIM and also create the same items as an asset and load the cost as well using inventory transactions? Is this going to solve the purpose? But in that case, once Oracle purchasing would be implemented then it would be difficult to purchase the parts of an asset since there is no parts/items defined into the system.

    Thanks

    Ekansh

How to Monitor the time charged by resources (labors) for the same operation in different work orders
    Content:

    Hi,

Please find the Use case below:

    1. There are scheduled preventive maintenance WO in every week or month
    2. Because there are multiple resources (labor) available, therefore, work orders have been assigned for the maintenance of the same location to multiple people. For example in the month of May-19, resource A is going to work on the work order 1. Now in June-19 resource B will work on the work order 2.
    3. Now, Resource A has charged 2 Hours against work order 1 for the same operation
    4. Resource B has charged 4 hours against the work order 2 for the same operation

Is there any way to pull the information on the time charged by resources for the same operations in different work orders to monitor their work efficiency and performance. Also, it will help the client to monitor the performance of their labors.

Please confirm how we can achieve this functionality.

    Thanks

    Ekansh

    Hi,

We are looking to push the information related to the time taken by the resource (labor) against the work order from Oracle Maintenance Cloud to Oracle Time and Labor.

My client is looking to push the information from Maintenance cloud to OTL so that labor has not to fill the time card for the time spent on Work orders.

    Please confirm.
