    Summary:
Budget to Actuals reports in Public Sector
    Content:

    Hello,

Have any other public sector Oracle Cloud users developed a good budget to actuals report? We have one that has been developed in FRS, but we have issues with it not being schedulable and with the parameter fields not persisting. We are also working some SRs with Oracle since out Budget Monitor dashboard is erroring as well whenever budgetary control is enabled. Since all transactions are budgetarily controlled, this is a significant issue for us.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best,

    Alex

Drill to Fusion from a BI Publisher Report
    Content:

    Hi,

I have created a very useful data model that will allow our users to search for payments, what I would like to do is link the invoice numbers to oracle fusion financials to allow the users to quickly access the the invoice attachments and further invoice details.

In an ideal world this would be a simple click of the invoice number and then they will be taken to the invoice.

    Regards,

Receiving Error When Prompting Values from Field Created...5.0
Topic posted October 1, 2019 by Kamran ButtRed Ribbon: 250+ Points, tagged BI Publisher, Fusion Financial reporting, OBI Answers, OBIEE Answers, OTBI, Public Sector in Reporting and Analytics for ERP public
    Title:
Receiving Error When Prompting Values from Field Created from a Case Statement
    Summary:
Cannot function ship the following expression: EVALUATE. (HY000)
    Content:

I have created a Dashboard Analysis and Prompt from the following subject area: Subledger Accounting - Journals Real Time.

The requirement is to have the ability to filter the Analysis by the individual COA segments like users can do currently in several ERP modules (i.e.Fund, Department, Account, Function Project). The following columns are available: Fund, Department, and Account. The following columns are not: Function, Project.

I created the columns by using a CASE statement and the Concatenated Segments column:

    • Function: (CASE WHEN LENGTH ("GL Account"."Concatenated Segments") = '38'  THEN SUBSTRING ("GL Account"."Concatenated Segments" FROM 12 FOR 5) ELSE NULL END)
    • Project: (CASE WHEN LENGTH ("GL Account"."Concatenated Segments") = '38'  THEN SUBSTRING ("GL Account"."Concatenated Segments" FROM 25 FOR 6) ELSE NULL END)

I added these same columns to a Dashboard Prompt and the prompts correctly display the distinct values as expected. However, when we run the report and filter for a particular Function or Project, I receive the following error: Cannot function ship the following expression: EVALUATE. (HY000).

I have the EVALUATE_PREDICATE permissions for BI Consumer role granted. I also added it to my own user just to confirm, but I still receive this error. I am including the XML for the report for your reference if needed.

Any thoughts on how to work around this? Thanks!

    -Kamran

Budgeting - Public Sector within GL
    Summary:
Public Sector entities doing Budgeting Directly in Cloud GL
    Content:

My client, a public sector entity, has decided to postpone deployment of EPM for budgeting.  This will mean that, at least initially, they will need to upload their budgets directly into Cloud Budgetary Control/GL.

I am seeking guidance from other public sector entities that deal with this scenario.  Are there any challenges or considerations when executing?

Client budgets by department and parent-level expenditure account for the entire fiscal year (for instance, total salaries for the year - not individual salary expense accounts).
