    [14B.2] Course/Class/ILT Search Enhancements

I want to see a more robust Course/Class/ILT search engine which provides advance search options to better help narrow down what a user is looking for.

Some advanced search features to include:

    • "All of these words"
    • "None of these words"
    • Search for either a Title OR Descripion or Both
    • Provide ability for keyword search (We would need the ability to add keywords to the course properties)
    • Allow for including categories in the search
    • Provide suggestions for words like Google does...particularly in those instances where there is a typo or you made a word in the title plural.
    • Provide suggestions for other similar training
    • Search by training creation date range
    • Provide a widecard option
    • Search by course properties

I would also like to see the wording changed for "Course" and "Classes" into one checkbox called Web Based Training (WBT)...(users don't understand SCORM/AICC courses vs classes).

A more robust Search feature has been on the Learn Center roadmap for several years, but it always keeps getting pushed back in the development cycle. The Search feature has been a Top 5 request from our users for quite a while.

    Thanks,

    Jerry Griffin

I would like to see a Search filter added to the Supervisor Accounts page (Control Panel >>Users >>Supervisor Accounts). We have over 6,000 supervisor accounts (132 pages) so trying to find a supervisor by using the navigation buttons to find someone can be very tedious and time consuming.

I have written many suggestions here on how many steps a person has to do to add something or how the system brings you back to the front screen vs. what you are working on, ...etc     I think its time that Oracle actually worked with some Administrators to watch how they do their work and see the inefficiencies in the system.    I am sure that if someone took the time to go into the system and change the base settings or what was allowed that most administrators could or would save up to 50% of their time spent in the system daily.

There are too many steps in the system that are wasteful and cause much grief.   Being a six sigma lean person this system needs leaning out!!!!

Vote this up so that they can start looking at how best to lean out the system!!!!

Have Instructors ILT approval change the Session/enrollment...4100%

Have Instructors ILT approval change the Session/enrollment end time
Update the enrollments to end when instructor passes the student and add in an assessment

Currently enrollments end when the time of the session ends.  That causes many problems.  If you are doing a learning plan that has an enforced sequencing and the session ends at 5 pm at the end of the day (set up that way for the students to understand how long they will be there) then any final exam that is tied to the end of the enrollment will not be able to be accessed until after the session time has ended.

What we need is the session date and time to be independent from the completion of the enrollment.   The trigger for the end of the enrollment needs to be when the instructor puts a completion for the enrollment or a flag that acts like that.

Also an assessment (not user assessment) needs to be able to be tied to en enrollment.   This would allow the assessment for the enrollment to come up and be presented to the student when the instructor give the student a passed in the enrollment.   The enrollment would need to be able to tied to the end of enrollment like the user assessment is today.

If those two changes are put in place then enrollments will be able to be used the way that actual classes are run.

Need for a report/tool for the system to show items that the system times out
There are many things that the system times out on and leaves things hanging. We need a report to the Admins that shows what times out daily and what was left hanging

There are many times in our system that we have people who have completed a learning plan not get credit for it, or people put into a job profile not being pushed to the learning plan, or people who have completed a course and they do not get credit for it.    I believe that there is a ton of timeout issues in the databases that they put in there to keep things moving but it sometimes screws up the data.   The problem is that you do not see it until you stumble across a person with a problem.

The first thing I would like is for Oracle to fix the problem,   However I also think that we should have an error report daily sent to the administrators to tell them when something has timed out and what it impacted..  Thus it give the administrator a heads up and lets them address it before it gets too far.

[Planned Idea][18B] Bulk Loader for Manager Hierarchy
would be easy to load employee - manager hierarchy using bulk loader, when migrating to Learn.
[18B] Bulk Loader for Manager Hierarchy

    Hi

It would be great to have a Bulk Loader to load the employee manager hierarchy. The advantage to this would be many fold

    1. while implementing Taleo Learn for the first time it would be really easy to get the employee manager relationship in place.
    2. If the organisation is using a non oracle HR system, then we can schedule the bulk loader to run every day and pick up the file from SFTP folder so the HR system can place the file in SFTP folder.
    3. This will will keep the HR System and Learn Systems in sync.

    Thanks

    Manoj

    [Under Oracle Review] Calendar Widget
A widget for training calendar to replace Training Calendar DO

    Hi,

It would be great to have a widget for a learning calendar to replace Training Calendar Dynamic Object that we currently have. We should be able to map both the Courses and ILT sessions ( Enrollments) in the widget. It will nice have various options of view so that we can customize the widget to view the calendar by Week, Month or Quarter etc. Also different icons to indicate if the item is a course or ILT or Assessment etc.

    thanks

Improve system by remembering your preferences on filtering...3100%

Improve system by remembering your preferences on filtering and what category or grouping you are adding things into
Improve system by remembering your preferences on filtering and what category or grouping you are adding things into

One of my biggest frustrations is that when you go to either add in questions or when your in learning plans and have already filtered out the plans your not interested in...etc   The system sets you back to the main screen like your just starting over again

Thus in adding question you have to select the category.  It would be nice to have it pin the category and pull up the last one used until you change it.  Thus when your adding tons of questions into the system it will eliminate the need to always go back in and search for the category again and again.  This is a MAJOR waste of time and very frustrating.

When you go in and are working on a few Learning plans or Job Profiles or even Training offerings and you use the filter to limit down what your are working on,   When you go into a learning plan and come back out it resets the filter to nothing and then you have to re-filter it again.  This too is a time suck.

There are many many many other examples of this in the system.   It is in dire need of updating the logic.   This would save tons of time for each administrator in the system.

It would really really be nice if the system remembered what you selected and left it that way until you changed it.    You could have the filter stay in effect until you log out of the system.  That would allow for someone to be efficient on what they are working on and have things reset when they leave.

It could also be a feature that you either turn on or off as a preference in the system..  Thus if some like things to be reset all the time then flip the switch on and have their features reset all of the time.   If other like working efficiently then let them turn off the reset feature..

    Search the learning catalog2100%

    Search the learning catalog

User experience within the search bar of the Learning front page has changed, moving to responsive UI.

The non-responsive UI experience did not have a dropdown list within the search bar, which can be seen as an improvement, however, overall functionality feels like a diminished user experience.

Idea: Is there a way to re-introduce the ability to enter a search term and press the return key on keyboard/click Browse Catalog button/re-introduce magnifying glass icon, to then navigate to Learning Items results? I think this is seen as basic universal search bar functionality.

Introduction of a search bar that does not allow user to click on a search icon or the return key on their keyboard, once they have entered a search term, feels unintuitive. Users frustration with functionality may lead to increase in calls to provide guidance, or see disengagement with system

Need Sample Time entry rule to validate specific timecard...2100%EMG_WFM_TER_WEEKEND_UNITS_SPINAL_POINT_AP.txt.zip

Need Sample Time entry rule to validate specific timecard type in OTL

    Hi,
There are some examples provided by Oracle for different Time entry rules in OTL. But none of them specify how to make Time entry rules work for a specific element. This idea is created so as Oracle can provide a TER template for following case, as currently this is a big theoritical gap.

For example formula, ORA_WFM_TER_WEEKEND_UNITS_AP will restrict the time entry on weekends, but it do so for all Payroll time type. There is no attribute to control if we need to do this for a particular element in payroll time type only.
    Consider this example:
An employee can enter hours against three payroll time types: Element A, Element B, and Element C. However employee should not be able to enter any hours on weekend only for Element C. For element A and element B however employee can enter the timesheets on any day of the week. There is no such illustration or example in any of the TER formulas to achieve some functionality.

Please note that I tried to use ORA_WFM_TER_WEEKEND_UNITS_AP formula to achieve this requirement. PayrollTimeType array gives the name of payroll time types element in timecard, and HWM_CTXARY_RECORD_POSITIONS gives the hours/quantity information for each cell, but this does not correspond to PayrollTimeType index. Thus there is no link established between these two arrays due to which I am not able to validate a particular time type on particular days.

I have added the attachment for the formula.

Without this validation there will be no proper validations for a particular element against weekends and other conditions. Employee will be overpaid.
