One time Payment - Party Type uploaded as person shows as "Organization" after upload
    Content:

We are uploading one time payment with party type as "PERSON" and after the payment upload is completed when we search under person it is not showing up and it is showing up  the name under "ORGANIZATION". What is the reason it is uploading as "ORGANIZATION" though the source type is selected as "PERSON" in the FBDI  one time payment request template.

When Requester Cancels the Budget controlled PO the Requisition shows approved status and fund status of the PR shows as reserved.

Will the PR still hold the reservation even though the PO is canceled. Need clarification on how to release the funds from the canceled PR.

In the Configure Requisition business function the cancel option selected is "ALWAYS". Got below notes on this issue below

Moving Supplier Data from a DEV Pod to Production4

Moving Supplier Data from a DEV Pod to Production
    Summary:
What is the best way to move Supplier data from a DEV POD to Production
    Content:

The client's existing supplier information is in poor shape - no/missing emails, no contacts, Business classifications are non existent and Products and Services offered is not available.

We are considering having ALL suppliers register into a Protected DEV environment thereby getting all of our necessary information verified and updated prior to going live.  The issue is how can we best move that good data into the Prod environment?

    Any suggestions?

PPM - Restrict transactions from bypassing PPM.

How to prevent bypassing PPM to avoid variances with General Ledger amounts?
    Content:

    We would like to:

    1. Restrict end users from entering requisitions without populating project number, task number and contract number in requisition preferences. Currently users are able to apply a favorite charge account which bypasses PPM while updating the general ledger.
    2. Restrict end users from creating an AP invoice (non-purchase order) without populating project number, task number and contract number, expenditure type and organization.

Receipts on quantity based purchase orders45.0

    Title:
Receipts on quantity based purchase orders
    Content:

We use encumbrance accounting and have budgetary control enabled as well. Procurement team has issues with how the receiving works and getting money released on obligations. For example, a user creates requisition buying 1 item (good) for $1,000 and enters a receipt quantity of 1. When the invoice arrives, total amount is $979, which results in a quantity of slightly less than one. The obligation balance is not released with final close because now the quantity delivered is greater than quantity billed. We cannot find any easy way to ensure that the PO is closed and the remaining obligation is released back. We turned on settings to allow change orders on fulfilled orders, and tested an example. In that case, I can see in budgetary control where the amount was accounted as a credit, but the available balance of the funding source did not increase.

Working in higher education, we have many situations where departments need to use multiple funding sources for buying goods or services. There are some departments that use mostly project/award funding and may need to use 5-6 different award sources for a single item. This also seems to create issues when entering an invoice and a receipt. As an example, when entering a requisition line, the user chooses goods to buy 1 item for $5,000, and use distributions for a couple of sources for $1,250 on one funding source and $3,750 for another. When going to enter a receipt against the order, the user doesn't get a quantity of 1. Instead, they get two lines with a quantity of .382 and .618 each. More often than not, the invoice is slightly different than the order and it requires a lot of manual manipulation to have the distributions match the amounts on the order in conjunction with the receiving. We have some receipts that end up with decimal places going out 8-12 spaces.

Users don't understand why the system doesn't have a field/column that simply indicates "obligation balance" or something along those lines and why closing an order doesn't always release that obligation. Is there any advice on something we might need to change in our setups or process to prevent these types of issues? Thanks in advance for any input.

    Jon

Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas...1

Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas and Work Center
    Summary:
Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas and Work Center
    Content:

    Hi,

We are trying to build the maintenance organization struSourcecture where the accounting of work order cost needs to be done on the basis of work areas. As a part of our chart of account, each work area has an account associated with it and therefore we have a segment in our COA.

Earlier, we have recommended creating each of those locations where maintenance activities are getting done as a separate maintenance organization, however, because of this we ended up with the huge number of maintenance organization, therefore, we have changed the design and now we are considering the maintenance organization as work areas under one maintenance organization.

When I checked into SLA setup, I have only found that "Work Center" is available as "Source" but not the maintenance organization or work areas.

As per our design, if we have the capability to write the SLA rule on the basis on Work Areas than it will become easier for us to recommend a feasible and easy maintenance organization structure and will be able to reduce the number of maintenance organization as well.

Please confirm, when we can expect the functionality in Oracle Maintenance Cloud or Oracle Cost Accounting.

    Thanks

    Ekansh
