    AP Invoice line level approval
    Summary:
AP Invoice line level approval not available
    Content:

    Good day

There is a lot of notes saying that invoice line level approval are available but not supported by Oracle, I found notes that say for some customers it actually works, and other notes saying that it doesn't work.  Does anyone have a clear answer on this as it is quite a common business requirement that an invoice line goes to its cost center for approval.

    Regards

    Ease of data entry45.0

    Title:
    Ease of data entry
    Summary:
Easier data entry of accounting code combinations
    Content:

There can be 2 ways to tremendously improve the data entry speed and efficiency of the users while entering segment values, for example GL journal or an AP invoice (Both of these features exist in EBS):

    1) Restrict users from proceeding to enter the next segment's value if the current segment value is incorrect:

Let's say there are three segments: Entity, Cost center and Accounts. If a value "99" is entered in the Entity segment which does not exist in the value set the system will allow me to proceed to enter the value for cost center. If an incorrect value is entered for cost center the system allows me to proceed to enter the value for Accounts and so on and so forth. The error only appears at the time of clicking Okay.

Ideally, if an incorrect value is entered search screen should popup then and there before proceeding to enter the next segment's value.

    2)   Simplified search for segment values:

When entering segment values if a user is not sure of a segment value, but knows that it starts with "2" these are the steps he will undertake:

    a. Click on the down button

    b. Click on the search button

    c. Enter "2" in the value

    d. Click search

Ideally, if the user is aware that it starts with 2 he or she should simply enter 2 and press tab, the system should open the search window which shows values that start with 2.

These 2 points may not seem like much but go a long way in reducing data entry speed. Moreover, it makes the system user friendly and intuitive as well.

Cloud Expenses - Complex Approval Rules6

Cloud Expenses - Complex Approval Rules
    Summary:
Cloud Expenses - Complex Approval Rules configuration
    Content:

    Hi,

We are implementing Expenses in the Cloud and currently I am having issues configuring the Approval Rules using BPM Workflow (AMX).

We have the configured the Static Approval Groups defined based on the Expense Amount as below.

    Expense Total < 100   - Approval Group A (Emp A)
    Expense Total < 1000  - Approval Group B (Emp B)
    Expense Total < 5000  - Approval Group C (Emp C)

Now, if Emp A raises an expense for £60 - the expense is sent to Approval Group A wherein Emp A is the final approver. For such cases wherein the expense owner is the final approver in the group, we want to re-assign the expense to the next level for approval i.e Approval Group B here.

I am trying to frame a condition that looks through the members in Approval Group A and if the expense owner is the member in the group; choose the next highest Approval group - but can't find a way to this.

Has anybody traversed through static approver groups to retrieve its members or is there a way to get a hold on the Approvers List generated during runtime.. if so could you share details please?

Any ideas to meet the above requirement is highly appreciated!

    Thanks.

We see in our 11.1.11.1.0 instance a Payables Profile Option with the code "AP_LINE_LEVEL_APPROVAL" and display name "AP: Enable Line Level Approval".

Will this profile option enable line-level approvals for Payables invoices in 11.1.11.1.0? Or is this profile option meant to be used in a future release?

In an Analysis created with subject areas it's easy to add subtotals by going into the view under Columns and Measures I can click on the sum icon for a column and select After if I want to see subtotals displayed on the report output.  How do I recreate the same thing in a BI Publisher created report?

Automatic creation of Amortization entries for Pre Paids75.0

Automatic creation of Amortization entries for Pre Paids
    Content:

Our business is buyer of large number of intangible products such as software licenses, shared license agreements where we pay in advance. And amortize these pre paid assets in straight line over several monthly periods.

Today our users maintain list of these pre paid assets and on monthly basis upload to GL the amortization journal entries.

They will like a utility in the system to generate this entry on monthly basis.

E.g Paid $36,000 to buy software licenses upfront for 3 year. Will need to amortize $1,000 (36,000/36) each month and offset the pre paid asset.

Our users do not want to use fixed assets as everything goes to asset clearing account. Pre Paid assets have different account number than asset clearing.

Any suggestions on how we can go about doing this in Oracle Fusion will be very helpful.

Cloud Expenses Approval - How to setup Dynamic Approver Lists
    Content:

    Hi All,

We are implementing Oracle Cloud Expenses and are having trouble setting up Approval Rules.

Our requirement for Approvers do not follow Supervisor, Job or position hierarchy. We need to derive a dynamic approver group setup based on Expense Cost Centre, Product etc.

Seeing Dynamic Approver Groups are not supported for SAAS customers, wanted to get your inputs on how we can achieve the above.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks.
