    Release 13.18A Factory BI Catalog Lockdown

    To minimize upgrade regression, an enhancement has been introduced in the 13.18A release to permanently make the shipped BI catalog content read-only.  If users attempt to modify the shipped BI catalog content including folder permissions, they will receive an alert "You are not allowed to modify factory content. Save your own content in /Shared/Custom."  Customers that upgrade from R12 to R13 will no longer be able to make changes to the delivered BI catalog even with BI Administrator role. Starting with R13.18A, BI catalog folders will behave as follows:

    • Customers must save all custom content in /Shared/Custom folder or create new sub-folders under /Shared to maintain custom content.
    • Except for /Shared/Custom folder, customers can no longer make any modifications to the delivered BI catalog. If a user attempts to add, change or remove any object including permission list in the delivered catalog folder, he/she will get an error "You are not allowed to modify factory content. Save your own content in /Shared/Custom."
    • Customers are permitted to retain EXISTING custom top-level folders under Shared. All existing content in those top-level custom folders will be preserved.
    • Customers cannot add, remove or change permissions on the shipped folders, e.g. /Shared/ Human Capital Management
    • Customers cannot modify the folder permissions to 'hide' the shipped factory catalog folder, e.g. hide /Shared/Marketing.
    Impact on R12 upgrade customers:
    • For customers upgrading from R12, all existing custom content in /Shared/Custom or custom folders under /Shared and their sub-folders will remain as they are.  However, if customers have modified the content in the delivered BI catalog folders, e.g. added custom reports, modified delivered reports, modified folder or report permission, all changes to this content will be lost after the R13 upgrade.  Customers are advised to archive their custom BI catalog to a file prior to R13 upgrade; and after R13 upgrade customers can unarchive the custom projects in the /Shared/Custom folder.  

     

    • Fusion application users are auto-provisioned with BI Consumer role, which allows them to read and traverse the BI catalog folders. This access is for folder viewing and navigation only and doesn't give the user the privilege to view, open, edit and execute BI reports, for which the user has no security authorization. An enhancement is in development to restrict access to BI catalog folders such that a user will no longer be able to see and traverse BI catalog folders that he or she has no security authorization to access.

    Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence 'Payables Invoices - Holds Real Time' subject area has been obsoleted and both header and line level hold information is now included in Payables Invoices - Transactions Real Time subject area.

    ? --> Have anyone been worked/developed on building a new OTBI report after 'Payables Invoices - Holds Real Time' subject area has been obsoleted and have included those information in "Payables Invoices - Transactions Real Time" subject area.

    Hi, can anyone point me to any information on how to best utilise this feature within OTBI agents. Ideally I am looking to establish a way to set an agent to notify recipients when an analysis has been run and data produced but not physically send it as an attachment (due to the inability to password protect the file).  I wondered if the Subscription functionality is the way to do this but I haven't really used it before so am a little unsure of what it's meant to do

    Apologies if this is documented somewhere obvious, I just can't seem to find anything.

    Good Day,

    We have been tasked to create a report where anyone who has booked less than a full days leave is highlighted.   This in its self is very easy and achievable.
    But there is a second requirement, the requesting team then want this/these people to only be highlighted if they have a Recurring Element in the "Payroll" - "Element Name" field.

     

    We have tried various different computations and realignments, also going onto Advanced Tab and then to apply sql after the relevant marker has been ticked.   And still no joy.   There are a minimum of 6 subfolders that match the SA's together as well.

     

    It always errors with this "No fact table exists at the requested level of detail"

     

    Any advice please,

    For OTBI Administrators - Is there a way to access Data as a Super User without getting a specific Job Role assigned?

    Hey Guys,

    We were checking to see if there is a way for OTBI Admins to access the reports/data as a Super User without having the Specific Job roles (like Inventory Manager, Warehouse Manager etc) assigned.

    We tried assigning all the %TRANSACTION_ANALYSIS_DUTY roles, but aren't able to access the data without Job Roles assigned. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

    We have a requirement for a global project that the value set values (Descriptions) we have in "English" should be in multi language depending upon the user location. 

    For example, during configuration we will update all the description in "English" for value set values, however when a china user logins, he / she should be able to see the value description in Mandarian language. Similarly for other users across the globe.

    Please suggest if this is achievable in oracle cloud ERP.

    Sample dashboard that gives you an overview of your accounting period close exceptions

    The attached sample dashboard gives you an overview of your accounting period close exceptions, on the top of the overview page you can see the total number of pending transactions and its related amounts. The transaction amounts are grouped by unaccounted or unprocessed transactions or grouped by expenditure or revenue transactions. You can use the drill down capability to see transaction details.

    The overview page also brings two sections where you can see the transactions that are pending to be processed and the transactions that failed to be processed because of errors. The error messages are displayed along with the transactions, so you can easily identify the cause of the issue.

    On the detail tab, you can see the pending transactions by project, by project managers or by the source. Use the dashboard filters to select transactions by business units, period and type of exception.

    To add this dashboard to your environment:

    1. Save the catalog to a local folder

    2. Unarchive it to the OTBI web catalog under Shared Folders - Custom - Projects *

    3. In the folder called ''Period Close Exceptions Dashboard", open the dashboard called "Accounting Period Close Exceptions Dashboard"

    (*) In case that the "Projects"' folder doesn't exist under "Custom" folder, please manually add it.

    I want to add account form and account to parameters to custom bi publisher report. I tried using add flex field process but unable to create parameter. Could you please let me know the process for adding account(GL_CODE_COMBINATIONS - SEGMENT1to7) parameter to custom BI Publisher report.
