Method to find intersection with actual data in Essbase with SmartView
    Summary:
I'm trying to find a simple way of targeting an intersection where there is non-missing, non-zero data.
    Content:

    Hello Oracle Essbase World,

I have a fairly simple question regarding SmartView and Essbase.  It's on the cloud, but that isn't relevant for this question.  What is the easiest way to find an intersection with actual non-missing, non-zero data?  I have heard there are VBS scripts that can do that, but is there a simpler way?  If not, what is the best method to be able to jump to an intersection where this exists?

    Thanks!

    Title:
    OAC Essbase Google Sheets add-on
    Summary:
You can now access your OAC data from Google Sheets exactly like you do in Excel using Smart View.
    Content:

We're happy to announce the availability of our "OAC Essbase by Casabase" Google Sheets add-on. Our add-on has been tested and approved by Google for inclusion in the G Suite Marketplace. You can find more information, including the installation link here.

The "OAC Essbase by Casabase" Google Sheets add-on now allows you to combine the cloud advantages of Sheets (no local install, accessible from any connected device, built-in sharing) with the benefits of Oracle Analytics Cloud. You can now access your OAC data from Google Sheets exactly like you do in Excel using Smart View. All the familiar functions are there:

    ·        Free-form: type in member names/alias directly in the sheet
    ·        Member Selection
    ·        Pivot
    ·        Unpivot
    ·        Drill-down
    ·        Drill-up
    ·        Keep Only
    ·        Remove Only
    ·        Submit Data
    ·        Execute MDX queries

The ability to pull your OAC data into Google Sheets in real-time opens up a new world of possibilities. Accessing your data in the Oracle Analytics Cloud using a cloud-based spreadsheet is the logical progression in the trend from on-premises applications. It’s easy to get started and we offer a 5-day free trial. If you have an OAC instance and credentials, you can get started in just a few minutes.

The add-on can also be installed from the G Suite Marketplace here.

Here's a blog post with more details.

Please give it a try and let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

Target Application and Import Format details in FDMEE3

Target Application and Import Format details in FDMEE
    Content:

We have sample outline and data file for a cube which we have been able to load through a Rules file.

Now we are trying to load the data through FDMEE. We require your help in understanding where are we going wrong.

Outline image and sample data file image is attached here.

In the FDMEE application, Target Application,

It shows us 5 columns - Amount Product Measures Market Year

In our data file, we do not have Amount and Measures dimension. We have sub parts (children) of Measures dimension.

    We have

    Dimension.Product
    Dimension.Market
    Dimension.Year
    Dimension.Scenario
    Measures.Sales
    Measures.COGS
    Measures.Marketing
    Measures.Payroll
    Measures.Misc
    Measures.Opening Inventory
    Measures.Additions

In this case, how do we add these columns in Target Application ?

And how to give positions (field numbers) to them in Import Format option ?

    Essbase License Information
    Summary:
Is there a way to come to know the maximum number of Essbase Licenses allowed?
    Content:

    Hi All,

Presently we're facing an issue with the total number of allowed Essbase Licenses in our project. We can retrieve the total number of active users in Essbase from Shared Service. But we don't have an information about total number of Essbase License which is allowed for our Client to use.

Is there any way to come to know the maximum number of allowed Essbase Licenses for any client? Thanks for your help in advance.

    Regards,

    Soumya
