    Hi Gurus,

Is there any possibilty where, to a particular activity we can associate the equipments needed for the technician by default instead of adding required inventory and inventory during activity creation.

    Thanks,

    Inventory Queries
    Content:

    Hi Gurus,

I have couple of queries related to inventory, please clarify the same.

In add activity screen we have inventory and required inventory tab, what is the difference between the two? When i added required inventory to an activity, in the technician mobility screen it threw an error as "missing required inventory".

Why do we get that error and what is the usecase for not getting the error.

Where are we maintaining the quantity of equipments in OFSC, and how will the system know whether the equipment is there or installed in the customer place?

Can we be able to get history of the equipment, whether it is in the inventory or out of stock?

    Thanks,

    Madhu

    Title:
Empty fields value creating new resource inventory
    Content:

    Hello,

We are trying to create new Resource Inventory using the API REST, but when we send the data, the fields Quantity, InventoryType, Inventory model (Custom field) are shown as empty on TOA Resource Inventory interface.

    We are following the documentation:

    https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/august2017/fieldservicecs_gs/CXFSC/op-rest-ofscCore-v1-resources-%7BresourceId%7D-inventories-post.html

A new register containing the resource inventory is created to the Resource, but the quantity field only shows the value: 1, different of the original sent value, the other fields empty.

    Someone can help?
    Thanks in advance

    Negative quantity in OFS inventory

    Title:
    Negative quantity in OFS inventory
    Content:

    HI All,

It has been known that OFS accepts inventory values more than the value of the  quantity of inventory that a tech has in his van.
For ex: if a tech has a non-serialised inventory of quantity =100 and he installs 120 of it, then OFS will not give an error and would update the inventory quantity left over as -20.
Is there a way by which we can make sure that the tech never enters the value more than that he has in his van.

I am sure many would have faced this issue. Is there a turnaround for this.

Adding CRM No / ApptNumber in Inventory Extract
    Content:

    Hi All,

Currently in the daily extract, we can configure to pull custom fields mapped against the inventory entity. Is there an option to capture apptnumber field in the inventory extract? Currently we have to read the inv_aid & query the activity no to get apptnumber. It would be of great help if anyone can suggest a simpler solution.

    Regards,

    Shankar

Adding Model name at Resource Inventory2
Topic posted July 31, 2017 by Prashant Singh BhadauriaGold Medal: 3,500+ Points, tagged Inventory / Parts in Field Service Forum > Field Service public
    Title:
Adding Model name at Resource Inventory
    Content:

    Hi ,

We have a test case for which we followed the following steps:

    1. We added an inventory type : Weight which is non serialized .

    2. We added the required inventory( Weight) in each activity . The required inventory contained the following fields :

         a) Inventory Type       b) Model        c) Quantity(for eg. 50)

    3. We added the Inventory in each resource . The resource inventory contains the fields:

         a) Inventory Type       b) Quantity ( for eg. 200)

We routed the activity (enable routing by inventory considered) but non of the activities got routed with the cause shown as " field resource does not have required inventory ".

It would be be very helpful if someone can explain me possible cause of this.

According to our understanding this could be because Model name is not specified while adding resource inventory . Is so how should we add  Model name at resource inventory .

    Thanks in advance .
