    Continued HCM Cloud Momentum
    Abstract:

Last month, Analyst Relations hosted an Oracle HCM Cloud Analyst Summit. This was the largest analyst attendance ever for an Oracle HCM Cloud event and it is a proof point for Oracle momentum as well as the company's investment in the HCM space. See what leading analysts and others have to say about Oracle HCM Cloud.

    Announcement:

Holger Mueller's Progress Report on HCM Cloud: For quite some time the Oracle HCM products had to focus to get the basics right – not just on the product side, but also on the go to market and services side. Apparently this is now addressed with Oracle HCM, which has doubled the number of Core HR customers and live Core HR customers. Global customers have passed 700+. Read more >>

John Sumser's Five Nuggets from Oracle HCM Analysts' Day: Oracle operates at the level where established firms bring innovation into their workforces. That's different (and more profitable) than the hard scrabble world of startup innovation. The Analyst Day agenda showcased a number of those initiatives. Read More >>

Columnist Bill Kutik on HCM World: Larry Ellison showed up again for the second Oracle HCM World conference, but this time had to leave before it started. New CEO Mark Hurd more than made up for his absence. This new user conference (formerly Taleo World) battled Ultimate Software’s for the attention of influencers—plenty to hold their attention (and yours). Read more >>

    Title:
Emerging Tech and the Oracle User Experience
    Abstract:

Get your monthly dose of emerging technology excitement with several posts on what we’re doing next.

    Announcement:

WEARABLES WHITEPAPER: Gurbinder Bali from the JD Edwards team offers up a whitepaper on wearables here. Wearables, especially smartwatches, are unobtrusive and glanceable to an unparalleled extent, provide even greater point-of-use access than mobile devices while liberating the user’s hands, requiring low overhead, and giving the user the power to decide which alerts need immediate attention.

SENSING THE FUTURE: There are many innovative ideas about how to use wearables to improve customers’ lives, both at work and in other areas. And many of these products are just hitting the market, such as Lesia Trubat’s Electronic Traces (pictured below), which adds a new dimension to dance by transforming the pressure coming from a dancer’s ballet shoes into visuals that can be viewed on a mobile app. Check out what else is new in this article in Oracle’s Profit magazine.

WINDOWS DEVICES: Finally, if you’re wondering, “Where are the mobile Windows devices?” check out this post on the Usable Apps blog. The team developed a few apps for these devices, and the post details how that went.

    Wearables and “Glance, Scan, Commit"
    Abstract:

See how wearables -- like the Apple Watch -- fit into Oracle’s user experience strategy.

    Announcement:

FITBIT SURGE: What’s it like wearing the latest Fitbit? If anyone could wear out the Fitbit Surge, it’s Ultan O’Broin, Director of the OAUX team, who writes about his experience with the “super watch” in this blog post.

BASIS PEAK: Jake Kuramoto of Usable Apps spent four weeks with a Basis Peak, and all he got was a crummy mark on his wrist -- well, OK, he learned some other stuff, too. Check out his post on this wearable gadget here.

NIKE FUELBAND SE: Jake also spent three weeks with the Nike Fuelband SE. He posted what he calls “a loosely organized manifest of observtions (not quite a review)” here.

APPLE WATCH: And finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Apple released its Watch, and we’re definitely ready for it! Click here for a sneak peek at our first Apple Watch movements.

Event Summary: Oracle PaaS4SaaS UX Enablement with Certus...5.0

    Title:
Event Summary: Oracle PaaS4SaaS UX Enablement with Certus Solutions
    Abstract:

The OAUX communications and outreach team has been on the road helping partners understand this competitive potential.

    Announcement:

Have you been thinking about Paas4Saas? We have, and one way Oracle is inspiring innovation in this area is through events and workshops. Our recent PaaS4SaaS enablement in the United Kingdom was a three-day, hands-on design and development event with Certus Solutions. The OAUX team got to walk in partner shoes, and Certus Solutions and eProseed found out how to identify PaaS4SaaS business opportunities. Click here (https://blogs.oracle.com/usableapps/entry/oracle_paas_bring_more_than) to read about the event.

Certus’ Debra Lilley, OAUX Speaker, attended the Paas4Saas workshop as well. “I’m still not technical enough to do this but I am technical enough to understand that PaaS4SaaS is a game changer and will continue to be seeing more and more in our community,” she said. Get her take on the event at her blog (http://debrasoracle.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/finally-my-paas4saas-workshop-blog.html).

A Glance at Smartwatches in the Enterprise: A Moment in Time...5.0
Announcement posted May 4, 2015 by Sarah SmartSilver Medal: 2,000+ Points, tagged Engagement Cloud, Financials, Global HR, OAUX, PPM, Procurement, SCM, UX in Customer Connect Announcements public
    Title:
A Glance at Smartwatches in the Enterprise: A Moment in Time Experience
    Abstract:

Check out some of our ideas about designing apps for *that* smartwatch -- and every other smartwatch, too!

    Announcement:

The wearable technology space is currently focused on smartwatches. Maybe you’re planning to get an Apple Watch, or maybe you already have one. Perhaps you’re interested in another kind of smartwatch or other wearable device and want to know Oracle’s position on wearables and the user experience.

Applying the Oracle Applications Cloud design philosophy to the smartwatch calls for an ideal realization of the first step of “Glance, Scan, Commit.” The UX needs to be simple, flexible, intuitive, and most of all, convenient. Smartwatch wearers need to keep that “right here, right now” feeling, having exactly what they need right when they need it.

We’re excited by Apple’s announcement about their smartwatch, and we’re even more excited to show you what Oracle is doing about it. Click here to learn what we’ve already done and how that’s influencing the Oracle user experience.
