Best approach to expose custom database objects/functionality as Rest service, to consume in VBCS
    Content:

    Experts,

We need your help in identifying the best option to expose the custom database objects or custom functionality as a Rest service which can be consumed in VBCS application.

    1. ADF BC Rest - We don't have JCS at moment but if its best option we can get back to customer.
    2. OIC Integrations as Rest - Already subscribed along with VBCS
    3. ORDS - We have custom database of size 15gb

FYI, we have already developed an application which is in production now, where we used Oracle JET and ADB BC combination for another customer.

For this new customer, we have adapted the VBCS and looking for best option to expose Rest services for custom db objects/functionality.

Appreciate your response with cons and pros for each of the above approaches Or any other approach apart from the above three. We don't have any skill set limitations.

    Thank you

What's the difference of "For Each" action and...6

What's the difference of "For Each" action and adding for-each during mapping
    Content:

    Hi experts,

In integration we are reading one file which has multiple lines, after that we want to call a DB procedure for each line(line value as input parameter or procedure).

One way is in integration we use For Each action and call the procedure within the loop

The other way looks to be during mapping, add for-each(mapping readfile lines) at the top of procedure call request

Will they behave the same? Is that the 1st one will call DB agent multiple times but the 2nd one will only call DB agent once?

Suppose there are 20000 records from source file, which one would be better?

The procedure here we want to use is to update one DB table based on the input records.

    Thanks in advance!

Connectivity with Azure and AWS with Oracle Integration Cloud
    Content:

My customer is interested to Integration Service.

They are considering to implement datalake in the company.
They have a lot of data from multiple sources.
The website or public information describes how to integration within Oracle Cloud. But in the multi-cloud era, the customer needs to think about other data source including Azure or AWS (using SQL Server or Redshift or S3 etc).

I am not sure the integrity of the Service of these vendors.

Connectivity issue between SOACS and Pluggable Database2

    Title:
Connectivity issue between SOACS and Pluggable Database
    Summary:
We receive Resource Dead Exception for the Datasource that we use to connect PDB from SOACS
    Content:

    Hi Team,

We are connecting to Pluggable Database from SOACS. Recently the PDB was upgraded to the latest version. From then, we see resource dead exceptions on the connectivity from SOACS. Support team tried reseting the connections, restarted the datasource, restarted the admin, managed servers.  The ACLs were also checked and made sure to be opened between SOA and PDB. I am able to connect to PDB seamless from outside SOACS.

    1. What could be the issue in this case in SOACS?

    2. What are the admin related activities that you expect to be checked/done in SOACS whenever a pluggable database is upgraded?

    Error Received in SOA :

Exception occurred when binding was invoked.
Exception occurred during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'insert' failed due to: Could not create/access the TopLink Session.
This session is used to connect to the datastore.
Caused by weblogic.jdbc.extensions.ConnectionDeadSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceDeadException: 0:weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection for datasource 'ErpSaaSExtnNonXA'. The DBMS driver exception was: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.
You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (i.e. DbAdapter.rar#META-INF/weblogic-ra.xml) and restart the server. This exception is considered retriable, likely due to a communication failure.

Need help in uploading a csv or a excel file in a custom adf page with click of button 'upload'
    Content:

    Hi,

We have a requirement wherein we need to upload 4-5 excel/csv files (one by one separately) using a ADF custom page in PaaS. For the 4 different file uploads, we will have 4 different upload buttons. Upon clicking on the upload button, file should be parsed and the data should go and sit in the respective columns in the dbcs staging tables.

Next, there would be a button in the adf PaaS page which says 'download', Upon clicking this button, the data present in the dbcs staging tables should be transformed(calculations performed on it) and it should be downloaded in excel or csv format onto the user's local downloads folder.

Can we achieve this requirement in PaaS/JCS/DBCS. If yes, can you please guide is to accomplish the same.

    Regards,

    Rashmi

    Search Criteria for particular user?
    Content:

    Hi,
We have developed an application in vbcs
When logged into the application using username and password in which we get details related to that employee
We use business object to get table data, service data provider for filterCriteria.(Please find image for ref)
We have a search page in our application.
When we give values for search criteria it works fine, but when we click button without
giving any criteria all the data are fetched.
We need only data related to that particular user.

    How to achieve this.
