Insert data to database using VBCS excel Plugin3

Insert data to database using VBCS excel Plugin
    Summary:
    VBCS excel Plugin
    Content:

    Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to insert data into database using excel(used by users). I am evaluating the option of using VBCS excel plug-In for the purpose. I have installed the Excel plugin and able to insert/update data into a business object in the VBCS. Can we also use the same approach to insert the data directly into Database table instead of business object?

Another approach I was thinking if I create an OIC integration exposed as REST to do the actual insert to DB and VBCS excel plug-in to use OIC REST endpoint? Is that a viable option?

What are other possible ways to achieve this?

    Thanks

    Dvi

Read File in Segments to REST Service insert to database results in all rows written in each segment read
    Content:

I have a very large file to import to my integration.  I am using FTP download and then Stage Read File in Segments to access the data that will be inserted into a database table in our Cloud ATP Oracle database.  The REST call is set up to utilize Batchload in order to post the 200 rows that each read in segment will pull.

The result is that for each read, All rows in the inbound file are written to the database.  I believe the problem is in the way the elements are defined but cannot see that actual problem.  I am very new to OIC and am learning on the fly.  Any assistance will be appreciated.

    iar is attached.

Perform On Table - Select operation is not working as expected
    Content:

    Hi ,

I am trying to fetch data from two tables. I am doing it with "Perform operation on table " option with select operation.

Problem is it's always fetching the child table data for 1st parent table record. For other Parent table records, I am getting child table data as blank.

Data is available in the table.

Attaching a sample file. invBalanceTxnsLotIntCollection_2 is coming as NULL for snapshotId '60509'. Data is availble in child table.

    Thanks,

    Priyanka

Is there any setting needs to be done while configuring t he DB adapter? Kindly provide your inputs.

We are planning to use the new feature VBCS to add tenant database on external DBaaS.

We had the below questions from a security and network perspective -
    a) The database should have a Public IP is a requirement. So does the communication between VBCS and DBaaS happen over Oracle backbone or public internet?
    b) The communication between VBCS and DBaaS is using JDBC. Does it use SSL in between?

    Hello,

I am trying to connect to JCS-SaaS extension/APEX DB from a Java program using JNDI. I referred to the blog with link https://blogs.oracle.com/saaspaas/using-database-objects-in-a-java-cloud-application. This blog is mentioned in Oracle Support note 2418002.1. I am getting an error "Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file:  java.naming.factory.initial". Can anyone please tell me how to connect to JCS-SaaS Extension/APEX DB from a Java code using JNDI alias?

    Thanks,

Best approach to expose custom database...Answered4

Best approach to expose custom database objects/functionality as Rest service, to consume in VBCS
    Content:

    Experts,

We need your help in identifying the best option to expose the custom database objects or custom functionality as a Rest service which can be consumed in VBCS application.

    1. ADF BC Rest - We don't have JCS at moment but if its best option we can get back to customer.
    2. OIC Integrations as Rest - Already subscribed along with VBCS
    3. ORDS - We have custom database of size 15gb

FYI, we have already developed an application which is in production now, where we used Oracle JET and ADB BC combination for another customer.

For this new customer, we have adapted the VBCS and looking for best option to expose Rest services for custom db objects/functionality.

Appreciate your response with cons and pros for each of the above approaches Or any other approach apart from the above three. We don't have any skill set limitations.

    Thank you
