In Cloud R12, we were able to close a PO (change status from Open to Closed) and no AP Invoices were able to match.

Now in R13 when the PO status changes from "Open to Closed", an AP Invoice can still be matched?

Lately we have been fielding more than a few questions on how to setup context DFFs. My colleague Mara Prieto has put together this attached document with steps that illustrates how to set this up.

Please review and share comments, views and observations.

BPA Pricing is defaulting to Reqs/POs when no BPA is...195.0

BPA Pricing is defaulting to Reqs/POs when no BPA is referenced in FBDI Upload of purchasing data
    Summary:
BPA Pricing is defaulting to Reqs/POs when no BPA is referenced in FBDI Upload of purchasing data, this is causing the wrong pricing to appear on Reqs and Orders
    Content:

We use BPAs to manage pricing by project and dates and reference those BPAs in our FBDI uploads. If there is no BPA referenced in the BPA field, but a valid BPA exists for the item/supplier combination, Oracle is by default pulling that pricing into our Reqs and POs. This is not desired, we are expecting the system default list pricing to populate. We need the option to leave the BPA field blank and pull in the default pricing.

Tip: Min-Max requisitions do not converted to purchase...5.0

Tip: Min-Max requisitions do not converted to purchase orders even though there is a valid BPA
    Summary:
How to source a BPA when the BPA UOM is different from the item’s primary UOM
    Content:

Here is a quick tip we thought fit to provide relating to converting min-max requisitions into Purchase Orders. Often UOM (Unit of Measure) tends to be one of those sticky aspects that causes the requisition and/or order creation to fail.

    ==============================================================================================

Some customers noticed that even though they had created BPAs, the purchase orders were not automatically created for min-max requisitions.

After further analysis we noticed that the requisition line did not have any agreement associated with it, even though its item matched with a valid agreement line.

The issue was that the UOM in the BPA line did not match the primary UOM of the item as was used in the requisition creation request from Min-Max.

When customers intentionally create BPAs with item UOM different from the item’s primary UOM, then they must set the attribute “Allow requisition-to-agreement UOM conversion” to Yes. This option is found in the Configure Requisitioning Business Function page. By setting this option, the BPA will be autosourced to a requisition line for a matching item even when the UOM does not match. The quantity in the requisition will be converted according to the BPA UOM.

Tip: How Check Funds works in a multi-currency scenario for...4

Tip: How Check Funds works in a multi-currency scenario for a budget controlled requisition
    Content:

    Customers / Support

There were a couple of questions in this area in the recent past in our internal forums. I thought this tip might be helpful if you are not already familiar with the same.

    Context:

The symptom that caused this question was an error submitting a budget controlled requisition for approval: Missing Currency Conversion on transaction

    Steps the customer followed:

    1. Create a requisition

    2. Added project details

    3. Submitted requisition for approval

    4. Funds check failed with the missing currency conversion error

    Analysis:

The first check the customer did was to check if a currency conversion was defined between the requisition's functional currency and the budget currency. This came back positive, i.e. a conversion rate was present.

On further detailed analysis, my colleague found the following issues:

    1. The conversion rate type on the control budget was not the same that was used on the requisition

    2. The budget date though has to also be considered was moot here because of 1.

    Conclusion:

Concept: The check funds  process will attempt to convert the requisition amount to the control budget currency using the rate type in the control budget and the budget date entered in requisition distribution.
So when you encounter an error, first ensure that the rate type used between the control budget and the requisition are the same and secondly that a rate has been defined for the budget date on the distribution.

How to Create Requisitions for BPA Items without Assigning...45.0

How to Create Requisitions for BPA Items without Assigning to Catalogs
    Content:

    Customers

This is a recent forum post that I thought might be interesting to share. This is perhaps something that is more useful for customers that are relatively new to our Self Service Procurement functionality than our seasoned customers or consultants.

    Customer Use Case:

    1. Customer defines items in Inventory: In this case they seem to be 'Service' items such as Janitorial or Transportation

    2. Customer also defines Blanket Purchase Agreements for these items to document negotiated terms and conditions including prices

    3. The requirement is to be able to create a requisition for these items but not needing to maintain catalogs for them

    Resolution:

The Enter Requisition Line flow seemed to make a good case for this customer. This article's primary intent was to communicate this aspect. If an item is not needed to be 'shopped' through a catalog, the Enter Requisition Line flow might be a viable option to consider. Naturally, the corresponding job roles and / or privileges are needed to be assigned to users whom you would like to be able to use these flows.

As you know, there is no catalog enforcement in these flows. The intent of these flows is to allow advanced procurement users to make a determination on facets such as whether to order from suppliers or via inventory among other considerations. But for the use case the customer laid out, this flow seemed to fit as well.

You are welcome to share your observations or comments on this article.

Initial Default based on category parameter not populatingAnswered45.0

Initial Default based on category parameter not populating
    Content:

I have written an 'Initial Default' SQL query for a requisition line DFF, which is based on the <PARAMETER.CATEGORY_ID>  provided.

However, when the line is added to the cart, the DFF does not populate with anything.

The query only returns a single value based on category chosen, and I can see the value in the DFF drop down, but surely if this is the case then it should default?  Its not practical to ask users to have to select a single value for every line.

    Is this expected?
