    Information in this document applies to any platform.

    Goal

    User should be able to select line type of 'Fixed Price Services' and still be able to specify Quantity and Unit Price (as if the line type was 'Goods'). 

    Currently, purchasing IT services are done and billed in quantity.

    Requirement is even though purchasing a service and not the goods, to be able to define Unit Price corresponding
    to Invoicing for a day of service (for example Senior IT consultant)

    Create BPA line for IT services with
    - Standard purchasing line with code = Goods
    - Purchase Basis = Goods

    Service purchasing must be done in quantity.
    As the "product type" is derived from the purchasing line type, on the PO line, value is equal to the goods (and not services) : it can impact E-tax calculation.

    It seems that Purchase Basis information drive two information at the same time : purchasing in quantity or amount, purchasing in goods or service, so how to manage services purchasing in quantity ?

    NB: more than 60-70 % of purchase order are automatically created (the aim is 80%)

    Other example when requester try to create Noncatalog Request, he can choose between to standard line type :
    Goods or services billed by amount : "product type" automatically derived = service
    Goods or services billed by quantity : "product type" automatically derived = goods

    Users can not create a Noncatalog Request with line "Goods or services billed by quantity" and "product type" automatically derived = service.

    We have received quite a few posts (more so in recent times) with issues around units of measure (where multiple units of measure are defined). I have attempted a primer that should give you some very basic configuration scenarios with illustrations of the setup. 

    Do take a read and let me know your thoughts. This is but a basic introduction. You can expand on these (create blanket agreements or other supporting flows) to see how this works in various scenarios.

    As a reminder to customers, this is a feature that was introduced in Release 13 Update 17C

    Problem Statement:

    Prior to this feature, a requisition could not be created in a currency other than in the currency that the CPA that it referenced

    Feature:

    1. This feature applies to Contract Purchase Agreements

    2. It can be leveraged when creating Smart Forms or using the Enter Requisition Line flows

    3. The Catalog Administrator when defining the Smart Form can determine if the default currency has to be different than the agreement currency and also whether the user can change the default currency when entering a requisition

    4. The price entered by the requester will not be converted to the currency of the agreement

    5. Also note that if the agreement is not manually entered but sourced automatically by the system, the same behavior applies where the system will source an agreement in any currency

    We have a requirement to capture requests for using items that are stocked in our warehouses for R&D, Internal testing or Trade shows etc. Such requests need to go through multiple approvals before they can be fulfilled.

    On reviewing the available options we planned to process such requests as "Purchase Requisitions" using Self Service Procurement where we use supplier as *** Internal. Approved requisition is then converted as an Expense order in OM cloud to schedule, plan and fulfill from the warehouse where the product is stocked.

    For this process we require the unit price on the requisition to default as Item Standard Cost. Please advise if there are any options to do this.

    NOTE: We don't want to use the option of updating List price in Item Validation Org with Item Standard Cost as that will be maintainence intensive and could cause problem with the true external PO pricing with the supplier.

    If one user creates a requisition that defaults accounting based on user preferences and then assigns to another user, the defaults are over written by the new user's default preferences.

    Situation:

    User One (Advanced Procurement Requester) Creates Requisition and Charge Account is created from default User Preferences and Category Name.

    User One saves and Closes the requisition.

    User One reassigns requisition to User Two (also Advanced Procurement Requester) who is a finance specialist to review for accuracy and completeness before submitting to approval workflow.

    User Two opens and reviews the requisition for completeness and accuracy.  Charge Account changes to User Two default User Preferences. 

    Why doesn't the saved funding from User One remain with the requisition when User Two opens the requisition to edit?  They would only need to edit if there is an error.

    Also, we have found this same situation occurs when a requisition is rejected in approval workflow.  If one default was used to create the requisition, but another is active when a rejected requisition is opened, the original funding is replaced.  This is causing a lot of rework by our users.

    Is this related to Security Roles?  Please advise.

    Of late there have been a few occurrences where customers are asking support about a 'unique' occurrence in their Self Service Procurement flows. Let me save you the suspense and tell you this is not a 'unique' occurrence but a feature that the customers were not entirely aware of.

    Problem Statement:

    We got a request from Support suggesting that the customer was shopping and added a couple of items from the Catalog and when they added it to cart and reviewed their purchases, the system appeared to add those items to a past requisition. They were able to tell that this was an existing requisition because of the number that they recognized. Suspecting some issue with the system, a post was logged.

    Analysis:

    This is where the concept of an 'Active' requisition plays an active part. We informed the customers that the system chose to add items shopped to an existing requisition because that requisition was 'Active'.

    Now, what is an Active Requisition?

    Every time the user shops for an item and adds it to a shopping cart, an active requisition is born. This is a requisition that has just been created that is in status 'Incomplete'. If the user is not done shopping and wants to add more items, all additional items are also added to this requisition. Once the user reviews the requisition and saves it, it is no longer an 'Active' requisition because the shopping cart no longer contains the items he shopped for. It is now just a requisition in 'Incomplete' status that the user can come back to and submit at any time.

    See the difference? An 'Active' Requisition is by definition incomplete but not all incomplete requisitions are 'Active'. In fact, for a given requisitioning business unit, at any given point in time, there can exist only one 'Active' requisition.

    Is that it? What is the fuss about?

    Well, that's not entirely it. An 'Active' requisition identifies at any given point that requisition to which future shopping items can be added to. In some cases, the users are given an option to choose whether to add items to an active requisition or create a new one.

    For instance: If you are duplicating a requisition from Manage Requisitions, the system will provide you an option when you perform the duplicate action (I am sure you have noticed this) as to whether to save the lines on to an active requisition or create a new one. 

    Why? Well, because, the requester may decide that he wants the duplicate requisition to be on its own entirely and at that time, if the selection is to create a new requisition, then, that one becomes the 'active' requisition.

    Take another use case: If an approver edits a requisition from an approval notification, then that requisition becomes an active requisition until the approvers edits are complete and the requisition is submitted. In this case, if the approver user duplicates a requisition, you may have observed that the only option available is to add to the 'Active' requisition.

    So, as you can tell, the system attempts to figure out the current 'Active' requisition and uses that to drive functionality for the requesters with the objective of not proliferating the number of requisitions where it is not needed.

    Here's more:

    An active requisition is not limited to only those that are freshly created. Let's say a requisition was created previously and is now in 'Approved' status. If the requester withdraws said requisition, even in this case, the system will treat this requisition as active and any future shopping will result in those shopped items being added to this requisition. 

    NOTE: One of the customers that had posted an issue had this behavior above and when we explained it, understood the reason for them seeing an 'old' requisition that was previously approved supporting new shopping items.

    Similarly, if a buyer returns a requisition line and the requester edits it any further shopping will result in this returned requisition being the active requisition.

    Is it possible to add an ad hoc email address for a PO communication? 

    Example, requisition is created using an order site, which has a default PO communication method. The shopper creating the requisition needs the PO to be communicated to a different email address, different than what is on the supplier site. On the Enter Requisition Line or Request NonCatalog Item, after you select the supplier + site, there is a field labeled Email, when entering an email address in this field, the PO is not sent there but to the communication method associated with the site.

    Is there a simpler way to change the communication method, short of making changes to the supplier site?

    On the requisition page, no image displayed rather the smartform text link is displayed twice (Recent Purchase and Recently Viewed')

    Shouldn't it display image under 'Request Forms' section?

     Hi All,

    After Upgrading to Release 13 18C, All the custom Reports developed using Procurement Purchasing Real time subject area having item Description. field results error as below:

    State: HY000. Code: 77031. [nQSError: 77031] Error occurs while calling remote service ADFService11G. Details: Runtime error for service -- ADFService11G - JBO-25096: Accessor ItemEFFBIFlattenedVO was not correctly resolved in view def InventoryItemRefPVO. Locate the resolution error and address the issue. (HY000)

    We raised  SR and Oracle Support Provided the solution as per below docment:

    To deploy Item extensible flexfields, do the following:

    1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, open the task panel and click Search.
    2. Search for and select the Manage Extensible Flexfields task.
    3. On the Manage Extensible Flexfields page, search for the Item Extended Attributes flexfield (flexfield code EGO_ITEM_EFF).
    4. Select the Item Extended Attributes row. From the Actions menu, select ‘Refresh & Deploy Offline’

    This action starts the Item extensible flexfield deployment process.
    5. Monitor the Offline Status column, which shows the status of the deployment process.

    Steps:
    1. Please run the ESS program: Publish Extensible Flexfield Attributes.
    2. In the Manage Extensible Flexfield UI, force deploy the doo header, fulfill line, fulfill line details EFF regardless of whether the customer uses these EFFs or not by invoke Actions->Refresh & Deploy Offline
    3. After deployment, in the same EFF UI, invoke Actions->Download Flexfield
    Archive to download the artifacts, and make sure the directory structure is like: oracle.apps.publicFlex.scm.doo.fulfillLineCategories.analytics
    4. Bounce SCM’s UI and Service Server (Open SR for the bounce)
