    Hello,

I believe till 19B, we do not have any report to show the details of PO Approval rules.

Appreciate if someone can share a query to extract the rules information along with conditions and actions.

One a separate note, do we have any excel upload option for PO approval rules.

    Thanks

    Approval Rules enhancements
    Summary:
    Approval Rules enhancements
    Content:

    Hello,

I am looking for an intelligent solution which should minimize the number of approval rules for PO. We have around 4000 approval rules based on a very complex 'Delegation of Authority'.

    Scenario:

There is one condition 'material type', for example which contains 5 values  say A, B, C, D, E

when it is ' A' it should go to for approval to  'Person AA'

'B' it should go to for approval to  'Person BB'

'C' it should go to for approval to  'Person CC'

'D' it should go to for approval to  'Person DD'

'E' it should go to for approval to  'Person EE'

    We have 5 amounts slabs   >1M   >5M   >10M    > 15M   >above 15M

so techincally I have to create   5*5=25 approval rules

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe cloud Saas does not support dynamic approval group which could be useful as per my scenario.

Looking forward for any out of the box solution.

    Thanks

How currency conversion works on Requisition Approval...5.0

    Title:
How currency conversion works on Requisition Approval Notifications
    Summary:
How does the system convert and display amounts when multiple currencies are involved in an approval notification
    Content:

    Customers / Support

I have been asked a few times these past weeks on some clarifications relating to approval notifications in the context of multiple currencies. I am providing a picture of how the system displays amounts when there are multiple currencies involved.

Let us familiarize ourselves with some terms first:

    1. Functional Currency: The currency of the ledger associated with the Requisitioning BU in which the requisition was created

    2. User Preferred Currency (UPC): Fairly self-explanatory, this is the currency that has been identified as the preferred currency of the user

    3. User: In the context of this flow, the user is the Approver, not the requester (The significance of this description will be clear later in this article)

    4. Requisition Submission Date: This is the date on which the requisition is first submitted for approval

    5. Conversion Rate Type: The type of conversion that the system needs to use to convert Functional Currency to UPC

    6. Conversion Rate: The rate that the system needs to use to convert Functional Currency to UPC

    NOTE:

    1. The entire context of this article is the BIP Approval Notification (not ADF Notification)

    2. The functionality described also applies to both Email and Online Notifications.

    Display of Approval Amounts:

    1. The system always displays the Functional Currency as the primary display under Approval Amounts

    2. If the system can successfully convert into UPC, then the system displays the UPC based Approval Amount below the Functional Currency Approval Amount. The font in which it is displayed out of the box is slightly smaller to lend it more distinction

    3. If the system cannot successfully convert into UPC, then the system only displays the Functional Currency Approval Amount.

So far, so good. Now, what is the logic the system uses to compute 2. above? This is where the terms described above come into play.

    UPC Conversion Logic:

    Currency Conversion Rate:

    1. If a currency conversion rate exists for the Requisition submission date, then the system uses that rate

    2. If a currency conversion rate does not exist for the Requisition submission date, then the system tries to look for a fall back rate: Rate that is available in the last 30 days

    Currency Conversion Rate Type:

In order to get the currency conversion rate, it is logical that a conversion rate type should exist. So how does the system get that?

    1. If a currency conversion rate type has been defined for the Procurement BU associated with the Requisitioning BU of the current requisition in the setup entitled: Manage Common Options for Procurement and Payables, then the system uses that conversion rate type

    2. If a conversion rate type is not available on that configuration setup page, the system will use the Rate Type entitled 'Corporate'

    3. Also note that if a conversion rate type does exist in the configuration setup page but that happens to be a User defined Rate Type, then the system will not display the UPC approval amount. It will only display the Functional Currency approval amount.

I hope this article has afforded clarity on the logic that drives the displays of approval amounts on requisition approval notifications.

Feel free to add comments, ratings and observations on the same. One of the questions that came from the customers and support was why the values they were looking at in the approval notification were different than the values on the requisition itself. This article also provides you clarity on that question.

Bypass CPA reference for Non catalog request4

Bypass CPA reference for Non catalog request
    Summary:
Bypass CPA reference for Non catalog request
    Content:

We have suppliers for which we have active contracts (CPA) but the business sometimes buy from the same suppliers without a contract (Non catalog).

    Example:

    Supplier : Telstra

    Site: Melbourne

    CPA # 321231

In the current functionality if I used the above supplier and site in Non catalog requisition OR smart form (without any value in agreement field) all the requisitions automatically picks the CPA# 321231.

We have scenarios where business don't want the requisition to reference any existing contract (CPA) even though a CPA exists for the supplier and instead the non catalog requisition should be created without any agreement reference.

How can we bypass/avoid the existing CPA reference of supplier on the non catalog request?

Is it possible to amend the Confirm Receipt Request email notification?
    Summary:
We would like to know if it is possible to amend the wording on the reminder email that is sent out to requesters.
    Content:

We have an issue with PO's not being receipted.

We believe part of the issue is due to our customers not fully understanding the email notification.

Is it possible to customise the notification (e.g. wording etc)? If so, could somebody point me in the right direction of how to do this.

We are using Oracle Fusion version 19B currently.

    Thanks

    Rich

    Hello,

We have enabled notes to buyer at requisition level. It's widely used for business requesters to pass on the message to Buyers but buyers are not able to see the requisitions anywhere on the auto-created PO created from the requisition.

We tried recreating the scenario and notes are not available anywhere!!.

How to display all of the description on the Requisition...5.0

How to display all of the description on the Requisition Email Notification
    Content:

    Customers / Support

There was a recent post that I thought would be of common interest to share.

    Business Requirement:

This customer is using the BIP Email Notifications and noticed that the description printed on the notification was truncated. They wanted to understand how to display the full description in the notification.

    Solution:

The following was provided by our development to help the customer with this requirement. Remember it is a given that you know how to use the RTF template that the BIP notification uses and you are aware of the process to download the same and also are aware of how to make the customizations. Our documentation in docs.oracle.com provides details on all of these processes for your additional guidance.

The steps below should help you achieve this change once you have downloaded the template and followed the steps to copy the template to a separate folder etc.

1 Right click on the attribute field you want to increase the size (Description

    2 Select BI Publisher

    3 Select Properties...

    4 Select  the tab Advanced

    5 Change the string
    <?xdofx:substr(REQ_DESCRIPTION,1,66)?>

    to
    <?xdofx:substr(REQ_DESCRIPTION,1,240)?>

replace 66 with 240(which is the maximum size of the Description)

    6 Click Ok.

I do hope this is useful information that will help you to make similar such minor customizations.

    NOTES:

     1. Remember the current email notification template has been optimized for the mobile application view. So when you make changes, take into consideration the display impacts on your mobile app
