OFSC Open Source Developments - Data Loader
    Content:

Hello OFSC community. A few have asked me about using the data migration and management tool I built for OFSC. Apologies if I didn't respond, I have just been very busy. I'd like to open source the project, that way we have the best chance of keeping up with the rapid pace of development, and it starts to build a free and healthy open source culture in the community.

I have some other projects I'd like to open source, including a collaboration event triggering system for the new 19B patch, which I'm very excited about.

I'm keen to learn if there are others in the community who invest any of their time in an open source group. It would also be good to connect with users, both those who have some spare time to help test, document, and who would like a voice in driving an open source roadmap supplementing OFSC's fantastic capabilities.

I put a lot of thought into making the data loader as dynamic as possible, which means that it has features like synchronisation with the metadata API, so the moment you add a new field in OFSC, it is available in the tool. I'm working on tools to batch load testing/dummy data for easy routing trials!

I have a couple of points to iron out on deployment and security with the help of the OFSC team, so if anyone would like to get early access then please get in touch.

Check out the new forms functionality - It's great11100%

Check out the new forms functionality - It's great
    Summary:
Quick overview of some of the things I've been playing with. Would be great to see what others have done!
    Content:

If you haven't got stuck into the functionality of the new form logic that came with 19A yet, it's well worth it!

Just finished up a small development for a client where I wanted to back out my custom plugin development and make full use of it, and it's worked flawlessly. The technicians are now able to draw, sketch, comment and generally enhance the data volume and quality of site data they capture without hardware or connectivity limitations.

I re-purposed the signature capture as a 'sketch' pad for back-of-the-cigarette-packet drawing, and I love the new draw on photo feature, modelled by Toy Story 4 and my awe-struck daughter! With a small ICS integration, I was able to poll the subscription and move the valuable data into OSvC for > 90 day retention, and with a DBaaS replication to OAC we can even do sentiment and clustering analysis on the measurable data captured. Oracle Cloud has never felt more connected.

Hopefully, we'll get some feature detection ML in OAC in the future and then who knows what we could do with all of those images!

Attached some shots of it in action

move orders so that they are not considered by routingAnswered1100%

move orders so that they are not considered by routing
    Summary:
It will be possible to move orders to a type of resource that routing does not consider.
    Content:

Our client handles suspended orders that can go several days without attending.

We need to be able to separate these orders from their original buckets and pass them to another one called "suspended" or something similar without routing taking these orders into account.

They are currently handled in a bucket but, routing when considered, it obviously routes them again.

The client needs to be able to locate in some type of resource the orders that are suspended and that are not routed by the system. They will manually locate them in the corresponding technician.

This is possible ?? Is there any alternative?

    Thank you.

    Hi !!

Our client at the time of selecting the next work order, needs to be able to confirm through a message or alert the data of the order that you have selected just when you press the send button.

    https://www.screencast.com/t/YI7ezcqj5

At the moment of pressing the send button, a message of confirmation of the data and the order that I select will be shown, in case you chose a mistake you can return to the previous screen (end order) and select the correct order.

    Digital signature custom form
    Summary:
Sending Digital signature custom form to Customer
    Content:

    Hi Experts,

We have a requirement where the user wants to send a custom form to the customer on email. Customer form should contain the signature frame where customer can signature using a touch device/mouse control after email received. Email can have a link which will be open the form in browser and customer can sign in it.

Please let me know if this can be achievable in current standard OFSC application functionality. If not then how we can achieve this using any other custom module/plugin.

    Help will be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Sourabh

    Summary:
Steps to send survey to customer and record feedback
    Content:

I created a survey with a sample question. I need to send this survey to customer via email once the activity is finished. I read online that OFSC cannot send html formatted survey to customer instead it can only send xml based message to middleware. In the message scenario i am not sure how to trigger the survey and also the layout of the message. I am also not sure how the response/feedback will be recorded back to OFSC.

Plus, is it possible to use a custom plugin to send and receive customer feedback for the survey?

    Thanks

Calculation of Distance Travelled by a Field Technician throughout the day.
    Content:

    Hi,

Is there any parameter or API available which provides information about the distance travelled by the Technician (km) during the day?

I checked the GPS API's, Location API's as well as Smart Location API's, however there is nothing related to the distance. Also the avialable reports are much more focussed on the Travel Time.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks,

    Haiquea

    Hi

Is is possible to upload a shapefile that is stored locally in my laptop?

From documentation it seems it is only possible to upload shapefiles that are accessible over HTTPS protocol over a public network. The wish is to keep these files not public.

None of the resource API's return "email"...Answered4

None of the resource API's return "email" field in the response
    Summary:
19c Resource management API's does not return resource email address
    Content:

Hi All, We observed that none of the 19c version Resource Management Rest API's return the resource email field in the response. We have custom Tech2Tech transfer functionality where we get the recipient email address in OFSC using Rest APi and pass it on to external system within the plugin. Now it is broken and also there are many other functionalities driven by email address and all are broken.

May I know why this change has been made to the API's and now how to get resource email. Added email field to Resource Management section with read/write permission in Configuration=>Application but no luck.

    Thanks,

    Dhanapal

Wanted to add custom security fields to User Options form for tech to maintain, but unable to
    Content:

Hi Team, There is a requirement to provide flexibility for tech's to maintain credentials for a third party application which tech can access from Mobility. Planning to define two user properties and add them to User Options window. But the properties added are not visible in the User Options visual editor form. May I know if any additional setup to be done to make them visible to the form please.
