    Title:
Reporting Options for data source in PaaS and SaaS
    Summary:
Reporting Options for data source in PaaS and SaaS
    Content:

I understand we have OTBI and BI tools available to report out of SaaS Data Source. Similarly,

    1. What are the options to report data out of DBCS – PaaS?
    2. What are the options to report data out of two data sources combined - DBCS and SaaS? I understand we can move data from SaaS to DBCS and then report out of DBCS. But what about without data movement?
    3. What are the options to report data out of three data sources combined – DBCS, SaaS and On Premise Data Store?

    Kindly share your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Raghu

I hope someone from Oracle Analytics team answer this question. However, In the meanwhile, I can tell you what I know.

I believe you should go for Analytics Cloud ( https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/oac ). This is the best product, in terms of capabilities, that you may go for. If I remember correctly, it will provide you both OLTP ( Oracle Relational Database) and OLAP ( Essbase ) databases, along with BICS (BI Cloud Service). Combination of such products should be sufficient to meet any kind of requirements.

If you are dealing with relational data only then you may go for BI Cloud Service ( https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/business-intelligence/features ). I believe it provides single schema database and hence you need to evaluate your data storage requirements first.

If you are dealing majorly with hierarchical data, you may also go for Essbase cloud.

I don't think that connecting Analytics cloud solution to external data sources directly is an option. You will have to load data in cloud solutions.

You should also check out Oracle Autonomous Datawarehouse Cloud ( https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/datawarehouse ).

Also, check out these videos to know more about OAC and BICS:
