    Title:
Requisition Approval by Project Key Member
    Summary:
Requisition Approval by Project Key Member
    Content:

    Hello,

Our client has a requirement to route project based requisitions to a project key member (Project Accountant) for approval instead of Project Manager. Any pointers on how this can be achieved,if possible, would help.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Dhiman Debnath.

Be interesting if someone comes up with something better but this is part of the problem with the rules as they come they are very inflexible and if you want to build in anything outside of standard Hierarchy type rules you end up having a lot of rules and a maintenance headache.

As Project Manage seems to be the only option in the setup I beleive it means you cant pick Project Accountant.

So would have to find something else that groups the relevant projects together, whether its project type/number/Manager and then build rules around those groupings using the relevant attribute, assigning each accountant to an approval group and assigning that to your relevant rule.  We had to do something similar on categories as we wanted finance approver built in and ended up with 10 x 6 rules for each accountant with our 2,400 categories having to be individually added to each relevant rule (and theres no uploader and you cant export to check your rules)

The issue then is you will have to update each rule everytime there is a new project type/project/manager and update the assignments as well as people leave/move jobs.  We have the added work load that the same is required for change orders as well.

Be good if someone has a better way of doing this but one doesnt leap out at me with the exposure have had to these rules so far.

Thanks Dave. Turned out to be fairly simple for client's business. They would have only one Project Accountant per BU. But yes it would be good to know if there is a way to do it for larger organizations without ending up defining huge number of rules and inviting maintenance issues.

        Thanks & Regards,

Please let me know if you would like to discuss further the solution for providing multiple levels of approval to Project Team Members.  The solution that I have done uses the same number of rules as there are levels of approval.  I have done this for both the Requisition and AP Invoices.

      Thanks,
