    Title:
Can a backup file taken with 19A be restored to 19B?
    Summary:
We have a data backup file from 19A. Would we be able to restore it to 19B?
    Content:

    Hello.

Our OFSC demo environment is currently on 19A but will soon be upgraded to 19B (so we hear).

We have a data backup file that we took on the current version (19A).

Once the version goes up to 19B, would we be able to simply restore the backup file to the new version?

    Version:
    19A; soon upgraded to 19B

    Hi Tetsuko,

I don't have experience about demo environments, but generally the upgrade means software upgrade and the parameters/data left (almost) intact.
Over that, I think there isn't a such function as a full backup in OFSC. If no any documentation clarify what will be happen on a demo version upgrade, then I propose to record an SR and ask Oracle directly.

    Regards,
    Zsolt

Thank you Zsolt for the prompt response.

It's reassuring to know that the parameters and data generally are left intact.

We will reach out to our local Oracle representatives if we seem to have any trouble with the data restoration.

        Regards,
