    Title:
    Notification on requisition withdrawal
    Content:

    Hi

We have a requirement to send notifications of requisition withdrawal to the approvers in case a requisition which is pending approval has been withdrawn for further edits

Anyone else also having the same requirement & how are you handling this

    Thanks

    Rohan

      Hi Rohan

I will let the customers respond as it seems geared toward understanding other business practices. It seems to me you are aware such a notification does not exist out of the box. Have you explored OTBI to see if there is support to produce such a report and then send notifications? (I am not certain it exists but wanted to see if you have explored it).

        Hi Ashok

Thanks for your reply . Yes , we have explored OTBI too , but that is not an option , since the timing of withdrawal cannot be predicted and we cannot have OTBI reports generated based on an business event .

Will wait to see how others handle this situation

        Thanks

While we wait for other customers to chip in, I am curious to understand the business context here. Why would you want to burden approvers with these notifications (they must already have enough to work on in terms of managing notifications). What do you see as a business justification for wanting this in your process and what is the benefit of introducing this additional notification?

        Hi Ashok

It is to alert the approvers that the given requisition was withdrawn by the requester , There are cases where one approve approves a requisition and before the final stage of approval ,  the requisition is withdrwan .

We have been hearing this a lot "Ohh I just approved this !! , Why do I have to re-approve" :) . On withdrawing the requisition , since the previous approver was not automatically notified , it creates a sort of confusion

        Thanks

      Hi Ashok,

Some of our public sector clients also would like to have this functionality.

Business case: Requester submits PR for approval. PR is approved thru the approval hierarchy. PR goes to Buyer and buyer is working on the PR for creating a Bid and bid is in-process status. Now requester goes and withdraws the PR to make changes. At this situation there is a update that happened in the PR and buyer is not aware of the changes where he has already proceeded to award on the bid.

Ideally if buyer is notified that the PR is withdrawn and edited that will be helpful.

      Thanks

      Ramesh

      Hi Rohan

Have you already created an idea in the Ideas Lab for this? If yes, please do provide a link here. Else, do create one.
