I need an ability to edit Requisition line created from shopping cart. I receive below error message:
Line 2: You cannot edit this requisition line. (POR-2010291). You cannot edit punchout items or lines added from a catalog.
Although this item do not have any supplier or catalog associated so how can i edit the supplier or price for this line item

Manish

Manish,
The idea with punchouts and local catalogs is that the price for the good or service has been negotiated by your procurement team so the price can't be updated for that line.

Bill,
As you know that you can add an item in shopping cart even if you do not have supplier or a price ( 0 price) so why there is not opportunity to update/Edit supplier and the price. I understand if the BPA reference is there then supplier and price is not updatable. This is causing issue for our business and users are unable to use shopping cart feature.

Manish

Seems like this should be available in 19B https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/3824853aea

Anne is correct. The new feature that she refers to does allow price to be updated.
Now to your original question, ability to edit a line added from a shopping flow. The idea is disallowing this initially was simply: Why? Could you not shop for another item? We allow quantity changes already, now price is updateable. What else would a user update? Description can be changed of course if description override is allowed.
Why would a requester update a supplier? If you want to do that, the shopping cart is not the intended flow for you. You should use the Enter Requisition Line flow.

since i do not have BPA so the price will be 0 and supplier will be null so in those cases we need to update the supplier and price. If that is not done and user has to follow separate process then this is not usable for user.

Hi Ashok,
I am trying to enable users to update requisition line description in PR review page. I have all the items in BPA with 'Allow Item description' checkbox ticked. However, it still does not allow users to update description and prompts iwth "
You cannot edit punchout items or lines added from a catalog
Appreciate your comments
Thanks

The ability to update item description does not apply to a shopping flow (or a punchout flow). If you tried the same through an Enter Requisition Line flow, you will be successful in updating the description.

Ashok,
Thanks for confirming that. So wondering what is the purpose of having 'Allow Item Description update' checkbox on the BPA?

See my earlier response. You can still use that feature if you use the Enter Requisition Line feature. There the description can be updated.

Not sure what you mean by there is no supplier or catalog for the item. I have answered the question related to updating Price but that requires an agreement. What is your business case and requirement to update a supplier? In any event, you should explore the Enter Requisition Line flow.

Hi Manish,
Have you considered setting up Smart Forms in order to be flexible to your users using the Catalogs?
Smart Forms will appear in the Catalog and will allow you as an administrator to select which fields are editable.

Hi Manish,
I don't think that that's possible. I haven't worked with them in that way at least.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

That's right, a smart form is used for description only items. Not those that have an item in the item master. That is why I suggested you review the Enter Requisition Line flow.
