    Title:
    SoapUI CDATA error
    Summary:
    Unable to connect
    Content:

I'm trying to create a soap project and basically just use the OSvC installer URL untill the .cfg part and end it with /services/soap?wsdl
I have Create Requests enabled and klick OK and get

Error loading [https://**********.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/**********.cfg/services/soap?wsdl]: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: error: Unexpected element: CDATA

All profile permissions have been enabled. Any idea what I should do to resolve this?

    Hi Sebastiaan,

This will occur when you use the older-style WSDL retrieval URL on a newer-version site.  The URL syntax changed in OSvC August 2017 onwards.  Try this instead for the WSDL URL in SoapUI:

    https://site.custhelp.com/services/soap/connect/soap?wsdl

If you need to use the Connect/CCOM 1.3 service definition (if unspecified, it will use the latest available on your OSvC site, which is currently 1.4 as of this writing), you can use this syntax:

    https://site.custhelp.com/services/soap/connect/soap?wsdl=typed_v1.3

For additional reference, check the "WSDL Retrieval" section of the Connect Web Services for SOAP documentation. You can also check out Answer ID 9838.

      Thanks Robert.

Very nice!! This explains why the old link was working on a lab session and not on my own test site.
Thanks again and enjoy your weekend.
