    Title:
When Requester Cancels The Budget controlled PO the Requisition shows approved status with funds reserved.
    Content:

When Requester Cancels the Budget controlled PO the Requisition shows approved status and fund status of the PR shows as reserved.

Will the PR still hold the reservation even though the PO is canceled. Need clarification on how to release the funds from the canceled PR.

In the Configure Requisition business function the cancel option selected is "ALWAYS". Got below notes on this issue below

When the requisition is converted to an order, the funds should no longer be reserved. It should have changed to liquidated. This is standard behavior to my knowledge. I am not sure how you have a scenario of a purchase order created and then canceled and the funds status is still Reserved on the requisition line.  It would be wise to pursue this through an SR, if you have not already.

        Dear Ramesh,

Once requisition is created and reserved and PO is created, there will be business scenarios where PO needs to be cancelled partially or fully depending on the situation.

If the supplier who is in the contract is not supplying the complete order or supplying only partial order due to unforseen scenarios , business still cant continue with same supplier.

Business need to create new purchase order based out of existing requisition itself, for this there should not be any new requisition created for which it is already there.

But for budgeting, update us how system is working based on updates from oracle.

        Thanks,

        Amarender

          Hi Amarendaer,

The issue we are seeing is as below.

          • Create a Budget controlled Requisition and fund status is Reserved.
          • PO is processed from the PR and PO fund status is reserved and PR fund status shows as Liquidated.
          • Cancel PO and PO fund status changes to Liquidated.
          • Now the PR is technically cancelled but PR status is approved which is by design correct.
          • Check PR fund status and now it shows as RESERVED again.

Note : In the Configure Requisition business function the cancel option selected is "ALWAYS".

When the PO is cancelled the underlying PR is cancelled but why the PR fund status changes to RESERVED again? This is the issue we are facing and want the PR fund status to set as LIQUIDATED so that the funds are released from the cancelled PR
