    Title:
Is there any way to link incident with organization (without assigning contact to organization)?
    Summary:
Is there any way to link incident with organization (without assigning contact to organization)?
    Content:

Scenario : I am working for a retail customer who sell products online and offline store, they manufacture many products and took product from other organization and give branding and sell everything on their name, now when customer is selling product on their name they also responsible for any kind of service, my client wants a field where they can capture which organization manufactured that product which had issue. Later they want to make a report to understand how many incident created by organization.

I could have custom field for that but my client has 3000+ vendor so I don’t want to use custom field or system attribute.

Please advise me what should be the best solution to handle this situation

    Thanks

Object Designer -> Expand Oracle Service Cloud -> Incident -> Relationships (Ribbon) -> Add new Parent Association Relationship -> Choose Oracle Service Cloud Organization -> Under Foreign Key, choose Auto Generate New -> Save and Deploy

      Hi Ajay

      It's an interesting use case.
I do not believe this is possibe as Org is parent to contact and will therefore always reflect which contact has been chosen.

I think a workaround is a custom object and CPM where you for example automatically create an entry for your CO with the incident id (key) and a name you extract from the selected prod, cat or queue which you could use in a ROQL query to get the org and assign the org id into this CO as value

      Hi Sebastiaan,

thanks for confirming there is standard way to handle this, can you please explain more about how i can assign existing organization to incident?

You can create a custom relationship between Incidents and Organizations in Object Designer.

      Incident.CO$Organization = Organization
