Creating a PO directly without a PR

    Hi All,

We have a requirement where the business wants purchase orders to be directly created instead of a purchase requisition while releasing planned orders from planning central. Is there a way to achieve this?

    Please suggest.

The creation of the purchase requisition from planning central when releasing a recommendation can not be eliminated as far as I know however the process of creating a purchase order from this purchase requisition can be fully automated in Procurement Cloud hence the end result is the same as what you expect: a purchase order will be created immediately from Planning Central plan recommendation release.

In my experience of direct purchases, requisition is always created and a good practice:

      - for reasons of segregation of duties

      - and to better support change management in the subsequent procurement process.
e.g. Assume the originally planned supplier cannot execute the requisition as requested on time and PO need to be cancelled. Your requisition may remain (Procurement setup controls it) and be converted into another Purchase Order with another supplier on an exception basis without the need to run your plan again.

      Hope this helps

Thanks for the response Thierry. Yes, we pitched this approach. but, the business doesnt want a PR to be raised and just want a PO to be directly created eventhough a PO can be autocreated through a PR.

      Hi Anand,

You can create a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). So the items entered in the BPA can be automatically converted from PR to PO when released from Planning.

      Hi Anand,

I think currently there is no way to directly create PO when we release purchase planned order from Planning central. It goes through PR to PO.

      Hi Anand,

As what Ameya Suggested, the only way we can achieve this is to setup BPA and the PO would be created automatically from PR.

However, there are few validations that you need to take care of while setting up BPA failing which it would end up in an Orchestration Error.

Supplier Site on BPA should match exactly to that of the value that is passed during release. Also ensure that there are no multiple valid BPA's.
