    Summary:
    ODI-Read files from SFTP Server
    Content:

    Hi ,

We want to read the files from SFTP server and process in ODI. Is there any way we can read the file content directly , Instead of loading it in local folder and process.

    Thanks,

    Vempati

      Hi Subrahmanyan.

Unless somebody comes with a workaround, this is not possible.

I assume the sFTP is external to your network right?

      Cheers

      HI,

How do we use ODI from marketplace  to copy files to local instance from Remote SFTP for processing. Does ODI provide any inbuild capability to Get/Put files from Remote SFTP servers ?

      Regards,

      Arun

        Hi Arun.

Yes. ODI has tasks that work with FTP and SFTP.

        ODI SFTP

You use them in a package.

        Cheers

          Hi,

thank you. How do we get this package ? we have ODI from marketplace running on Oracle Compute, but couldnt find this executable "OdiSftp"

            Arun.

Do you have an ODI ETL Developer in your team?

            Here you have an example.

            https://blogs.perficient.com/2014/08/26/how-to-create-an-oracle-data-integrator-odi-package/

The OdiSftp is an object that you add to the Package body.

            Oracle Documentation is here.

            https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integrate.1111/e12643/packages.htm#ODIDG353

Note: An ODI Package is not the same as a database package or a set of software.

            Cheers
