    Title:
    Alerts sending two emails
    Content:

    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone came across the same issue and if so how did you solve it?
I have some alerts setup and they seem to be firing correctly, however the recipients are receiving the same report twice.

They do not show in the Report Management as they are not Scheduled reports, just alerts.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they are sending twice.

    Many thanks

    Pavol

Maybe you, or someone else, copied this report.

When you copy the report, schedules are copied too.

Yeah, that happend to me a few days ago. I had a test report in a different place.
I think it could theoretically (not tested) even be another (test) interface if you have imported the report there recently and have utilities running as schedules are also exported in the report definitions.

if you login with the administrator username you can see reports that may be in peoples private folders. Another thing ive seen cause this is a report on a test instance getting sent out.

Thanks guys, I was really hoping one of the above would be the case, but:

      - we have a very limited population who have access to the report explorer, and as far as I can say, none of them has copied it.
      - nope, the report is not on our test instance

      - Justin - as far as I can say, you cannot see other people's private folders, even as an admin (which I am logged in as).

    • Justin

not logging in as an admin profile but the actual administrator user account that comes with each instance. If you dont have the PW you can reset it here: https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/sign-in.

If you look at the screen shot i attached, inside the red box shows all the users private report folders.

You might be able to build a simple report with as to see which reports are scheduled as to double check? (see attached report)

      Great find Justin! :-)

    • Pavol Procka

Thanks Justin, was not aware of that.
Unfortunately, the report is not duplicated. I have now changed the subject on the one that I know about, so next time it fires I should be able to see whether it is the one report sending it twice at least.

Now I miss-clicked the Best Answer and don't know how to remove it :) (I remember there used to be the option)

'Report Schedules' (ACID 13000) is an out of the box report that would show it

    • Justin

also make sure the recipients on your schedule arent selected both as a group, and the individual person which would belong to a group. That could cause dupp emails

    • Pavol Procka

Sorry, but none of the above still applies here. The report id 13000 is only showing the report once.

Note: A report schedule needs to be created in order to add an alert. If the report should be sent as a regular scheduled report and as an alert, you must add recipients to both the schedule’s To field and the alert’s To field. However, if the purpose of the schedule is only to send an alert, do not add recipients in the schedule’s To field.

can you upload the xml of your report so i can load it in my instance and take a look at it?

    • Pavol Procka

Sure, attached. I have also changed my previous reply a bit, it actually is only this one report, with one schedule in it.

    • Justin

i tried to respond to this a while back again but it kept erroring. I looked all through that report and see nothing that should cause an issue i would deffinetly out in an SR for it.
