    Securing OTBI/BIP Reports
    Summary:
    Securing OTBI/BIP Reports
    Content:

    Hi All,

    One of our client has a requirement where they would like to give "Read only access"(no edit/create/delete even from BI Server) of reports to its user. Only IT team will have full access.

    Suggestion/Thoughts welcome.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Vikram

      One way of achieving this is as follows  > (try and test this for yourself)

      A) Assign BI Consumer Role to your users(end users) who need to only run/read/schedule the report.If Employee role is assigned to users, then "BI Consumer" role is inherited.

      CUSTOM BIP Reports  { Data Model (.xdm)  and the report (.xdo) ) }

      B) Share the data model with "BI Consumer" role with "Read and Traverse" permissions.

      C) Share the report with users with permissions - "Read/Traverse/Run Publisher Output /Schedule Publisher Report / View Publisher Output"
