    Title:
    Viewobjects used in OTBI RPD
    Summary:
    Viewobjects used in OTBI RPD
    Content:

    Hi,

I've noticed that OTBI RPD queries view objects such as 'oracle.apps.financials.payables.invoices.transactions.publicView.analytics.InvoiceDistributionPVO' to extract data from ERP. Can someone route me to an URL which explains what these view objects are, how are they created in RPD and relationship between various view objects, as I couldn't find any information in this regard.

    Regards,

    Pavan Kumar.

Pavan, The public view objects (PVO) are not "created" as such in the metadata repository database (RPD) in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI). The PVO exist in the source application itself as part of Oracle Fusion Middleware. BI is just one of the people that use them. The RPD has a database connection pool configured in the physical layer to ADF so that it reads the standard database tables and views using the PVO.

      Hi Pavan,

The logic behind the PVOs is not documented but the PVOs were built to address functional areas (i.e.: Invoice Distribution, Invoice Header info etc.). These are used in the Physical Layer of the RPD. If you need to see which Fusion tables do the columns exposed in the Presentation Layer map onto, you might want to check the database lineage documentation that is available on Customer Connect for each pillar (see for example the OTBI Financials database lineage here: https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/f53e634ec2)

      I hope this helps.
