How can I edit inventory details on mobility?
    Content:

    Hello,

As a resource, I want to be able to edit details of inventory I added previously. I have been able to configure same on Manage but on mobility, no edit options is available and I can only deinstall the inventory.

I cannot find the edit inventory option in the configuration for mobility.

    Thanks for any guidance.

      Hi Noorshabah,

IMO this option is only available for Manage.

As a workaround the technician can deinstall the bad one and install again with the good details.

      Hi Noorshabah,

We have two inventory screens on mobility Install Inventory and Add/Details Inventory.

You can edit the fields in Install Inventory screen. Mark the fields as Read/Write. So before installing the inventory on the activity, the technician can edit inventory details and Install. The updated details will reflect against the Activity.

      Regards,

      Hardik

      Hi,

I had a similar scenario where business wanted the tech to update the mistake rather than go to dispatchers. We build a plugin by exposing the inventory fields in the plugin API. We had then written a delete & update inventory using the REST API. As a general practice, it isn't wise to create many plugins as it affects mobility performance. You can put the pros & cons to your business users for them to decide.

      Hello Hardik,

I tried your suggestion but still the inventory fields cannot be edited.

Is there any other option I need to configure in order to display those fields as editable.

I do not want to build a plugin as Shankar mentioned.

      Thanks.

As far as I remember you can edit inventory details on inventory detail screen if enclose read-write and mandatory properties on visual screen editor into a tab.

BTW, What inventory you would like to edit? Technicians' or activity inventory (Installed, Deinstalled, Customer)?

Update - just tested it for Technician's inventory. It does work.
