    Title:
Data management: Load process time is incorrect
    Content:

    Hi all

We have noticed that when users load data using DM, the process start time is 1h off. In this case, users started the process at  8.48am , but the log states 7.48 AM.

Does anyone know where I can reset the process time? We have checked our Time zone and it is set correctly under the user preferences.

    Thank you

    Nouria

Extra information: Despite the fact that the Locale is set to Madrid / spain, I see that int he DM browser the locale is set to EN_GB which could explain the time display on the process log.

However I have no idea where this is coming from. The bowser or the local machine? Also is this the reason for the time difference when loading the data? Or can we amend this setting somewhere else?

      ( See attachment for details)

      Hello Nouria,

Your assumption is correct.  DM automatically adjusts the time-stamp on the Process Details to match your local.  This is done to help synchronize logs across all applications for analysis.  This is also done that way on the onprem version as well.

To answer where the settings come from:  I believe this question depends on our browser and OS.  On Windows 10 / IE and Edge pull from the OS.  Can you provide more details?

      Thank you,
      Wayne

        Hi Wayne

Thank you for your response. The users are on Win7 and Chrome. I know that the browser language on Chrome is set to English. However we have set the user Preferences Time Zone on The Planning Application and Myservices to Spanish.  Are these settings not useful for anything? Do we also need to amend the Browser language and the OS to Spanish so it is all syncronised?

        Thank you for your comments

We made sure that the Locale on the OS and the browser language and time zone on the application preferences are ALL set to Our time zone, but the process time is wrong still by one hour.

Could this be related to the daylight time change which occurred this week?

How can we resolve this? This is also happening on FCCS AUDIT process time. So it seems that the problem is simply related to LOGS.

      Thank you for your suggestions

      Hi Nouria,

Interesting thought.  What data-center are you in?  Also have you raised a ticket with support?

      Thank you,
      Wayne

I have also seen this issue multiple times. Regardless of timezone of local users, the application, even the data center...everything is in UTC.

      All,

There seems to be an idea from 2017 that asked about this. I just responded and upvoted the Idea to give more visibility (and I hope everyone here does too!). As mentioned in the comment form 2017, there was an old Time+Date setting that used to be in Application Settings, that would apply to Data Management.  But this setting has since been sun-setted to allow each user to set the timezone with their user preferences...As such it seems that DM was all normalized to the UTC timezone as there is no longer "one timezone" setting for the application.

        Peter

Thank you for your excellent response and the information provided. I have an SR open with Oracle and commented that they check this with their Dev team.

I hope we get a fix, as the users are confused and the logs should be syncronised with the time zone.

Thank you again, and if I get a positive response, I will update this post
