      Hello Ashok,

we are developing Contract Manufacturing ERP Cloud solution with 50 different contract manufaturers and only 1 OEM.

Many of the components are shared among all the contract manufacturers and we need to understand how to plann the material using MRP and Sourcing Rules.

We need to plann the whole on hand stock in OEM + all the CM even if the regular process is designed to supply from only one CM, but for some case the components are stocked in different CM.

      Thanks

      Luca

Supply Chain Planning supports the contract manufacturing process. You can represent each of the 50 CMs as contract manufacturing organizations. Include the contract manufacturing organizations in the plan. Set up sourcing rules at the OEM org to transfer from one or more of the CM orgs and assign these sourcing rules to items at the OEM org. The supply chain plan will now generate supplies at the OEM org to transfer from the CM orgs. The dependent demands at the CM org will generate additional supplies at the CM org based on work definitions defined at the CM org. You can also setup sourcing rules to transfer inventory of components from one CM org to another if needed. Hope that helps.

        thanks,

        Bala

      Thanks Bala,

I have another question, it's possible to use rank in sourcing rule in order to enable the plan to "search" in different CM org if stock exists before to require transfer from the OEM?

In this case which is the intended functionality in the following scenario for item code A:

      - CM1 demand 100 and supply 0

      - CM2 demand 0 and supply 50

      - CM3 demand 50 and supply 200

      - OEM demand 0 and supply 0

and we have a local sourcing rule in CM1 assigned to item code A like the following:

      - Transfer from CM2 rank 1 100%

      - Transfer from CM3 rank 2 100%

      - Transfer from OEM rank 3 100%

      Thanks you

      Luca

Will you have circular sourcing? i.e. is there a requirement to support a situation where you want the planning engine to recommend transfer from CM1 to CM2 when CM2 demand exceeds supply in addition to the example above? e.g.

      - CM1 demand 0 and supply 100

      - CM2 demand 150 and supply 50

you want planning engine to recommend the transfer of 100 units from CM1 to CM2 in addition to the reverse

      - CM1 demand 100 and supply 0

      - CM2 demand 0 and supply 50

        Hi Balebail,

the aim is to create circular sourcing in order to transfer exceede supply.

        In the suggested scenario

        - CM1 demand 0 and supply 100

        - CM2 demand 150 and supply 50

you want planning engine to recommend the transfer of 100 units from CM1 to CM2 in addition to the reverse

        - CM1 demand 100 and supply 100

        - CM2 demand 150 and supply 50

        Thanks

        Luca
