    Title:
    Intercompany Billing Setup - Receiver Project LOV is null
    Summary:
    The Receiver Project is not in LOV on the Contract Line
    Content:

     I know this is user error and/or lack of understanding and I'm grateful for any guidance.

    Completed all of the setup interco billing setups

    The BU is the same for both receiver and provider but the legal entities are different.

    Created receiver project and enabled cross charge on project and task. Added customer and customer contract and project is active.

    Create the contract:

    BU = BU1

    LE = Provider LE

    Type = Sell: Intercompany Project Lines

    Primary Party = Customer for Receiver LE

      The most likely cause is an improper sequence of steps taken when creating the intercompany contract.  You should:

      1. Create contract header.
      2. Create bill and revenue plan(s).
      3. Create contract line.
      4. Assign bill plan & revenue plan to contract line.
      5. Specify internal billing attributes to contract line, including Receiver Project.

      The bill-to customer on the bill plan identifies the legal entity of the receiver.  Without this legal entity connected to the contract line, the Receiver Project LOV won't work properly.

        Thanks Perry! I'm going to give that try.

        Follow up question...I've been told that because the provider and receiver both are in the same BU intercompany billing won't work. In other words, the different LE's have to be in different BU's too. All documented examples do concur with this statement.

      While all documented examples do show the provider and receiver BUs as different, intercompany billing will work if the BUs are the same but the provider and receiver legal entities are different.
