    Title:
Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas and Work Center
    Summary:
Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas and Work Center
    Content:

    Hi,

We are trying to build the maintenance organization struSourcecture where the accounting of work order cost needs to be done on the basis of work areas. As a part of our chart of account, each work area has an account associated with it and therefore we have a segment in our COA.

Earlier, we have recommended creating each of those locations where maintenance activities are getting done as a separate maintenance organization, however, because of this we ended up with the huge number of maintenance organization, therefore, we have changed the design and now we are considering the maintenance organization as work areas under one maintenance organization.

When I checked into SLA setup, I have only found that "Work Center" is available as "Source" but not the maintenance organization or work areas.

As per our design, if we have the capability to write the SLA rule on the basis on Work Areas than it will become easier for us to recommend a feasible and easy maintenance organization structure and will be able to reduce the number of maintenance organization as well.

Please confirm, when we can expect the functionality in Oracle Maintenance Cloud or Oracle Cost Accounting.

    Thanks

    Ekansh

      Hi Ekansh-

We plan to include the following SLA Sources in the 19D uptake:

      • Item Class
      • Operation Organziation
      • Maintenance Organziation
      • Asset Name
      • Asset Tag
      • Asset Customer
      • Asset Location Type
      • Asset Work Center
      • Work Order DFFs

As far as Work Area - I know we require it when creating a Work Center but currently don't leverage it on a Work Order (or Work Definition).  So I'm wondering how you plan to use it from an execution flow?

When you are saying "Asset Customer" but if you remember we have already discussed that currently customer assets cannot be created in Oracle Maintenance Cloud so are you suggesting that in 19D release, Oracle is introducing the creation of Customer assets as well in Oracle Maintenance Cloud.

        Thanks

        Ekansh

        Hi Jennifer,

Could you please provide me the list of all the SLA Sources currently available in 19B for Oracle Maintenance Cloud or if you are foreseeing it in 19C.

        Thanks

        Ekansh

      Hi Jennifer,

I think we already have work centers in the SLA sources. Is it for manufacturing and not maintenance?

Also, Do you have any information on Work Areas?

      Please confirm.

      Thanks

      Ekansh

      Hello,

Is there a list of SLA sources specific to Maintenance, both current and planned?  I think the request was posted earlier, but I didn't see the reply.

      Thank you,

      David
