    Title:
To make Attachments Field as mandatory during Supplier Registration
    Summary:
We would want to make the field mandatory, but is not working as expected.
    Content:

    Hi,

Our requirement is to make the "Attachments" field mandatory in the Supplier Registration Page, however I did make it a required entry and even then I was able to submit the request without providing any attachments.

I find it as a bug and there is an ER raised for this issue, and not fixed. Please find the details below.

    ER # Bug 21609211
Metalink: How to Make Attachments Mandatory When Registering Supplier ( Doc ID 2227878.1 ).

Kindly let me know when this will be fixed, because we would want to showcase this functionality to business.

    Thanks,
    Jay.

      Hi Jay,

You are right, you cannot configure attachments as required and we already have enhancement request in place for this requirement. As of now, we do not have any timeline to deliver this feature.

There are alternate solutions that we can suggest to meet your requirement. Let us know if you will be interested to try them out.

      Thanks,

      Piyush

      Hi Piyush,

Can you please elaborate on the workaround/alternate solution? Thanks much.

      Regards,

      Jay.

        Hi Jay,

        You have two options:

        1. Suppose your use case is to ensure user uploads certain quality certificates. Then you need to create a required DFF with yes/no options and label reading something like: Uploaded ISO 9001 certificate. If you require multiple attachments, you can create multiple DFFs to capture similar information.

        2. Another option is using attachments based questions presented during self-service registration flow (shown under Questionnaire train stop) and you can have those questions marked as required to ensure user provides an attachment.

        Hope this helps.

        Thanks,

        Piyush

      Hi Piyush,

Please correct me if my inference for your workaround is wrong.

1- As per the first workaround, we have to configure the Supplier Registration Descriptive Flexfield and then should I do page customizations to make it visible in the "Register Supplier" UI. Please find the metalink below - How To Enable Supplier Registration DFF Fields Only For Internal Registration Page? (Doc ID 2319470.1)

2- So this is based on Supplier Qualification and I don't think this would be the apt workaround. If not, can you please elaborate on this?

      Thanks,

      Jay.

Your inferences are right. For first option, you need to use descriptive flexfields and expose them per your need. For example, if you need them to be enabled only during registration flow and not on supplier's profile, you can do so using page composer.

For the second one, yes it is Supplier Qualification based and I am not sure why will it not be an apt workaround for your case. Any limitation that you can think of?

        Thanks,

        Piyush

          Hi Piyush,

          Thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried following the steps provided in the below metalink to achieve the first workaround,

How To Enable Supplier Registration DFF Fields Only For Internal Registration Page? (Doc ID 2319470.1)

However, I am unable to view "Additional Information" as mentioned in Step 4 and hence stuck.

Regarding the Supplier Qualification, can you please let me know how this works since I am not aware of this.

          Thanks,

          Jay.

      Hi,

      I found this thread relevant.

      https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/bea3b72a75?commentId=253153#253153

While following the steps provided above, I am not able to view additional information tab when i edit "Note to approver" as explained.

Could you please elaborate on the same.

      Thanks,

      Jay

      Hi Piyush,

This is working now as per the workaround. Thanks much.

      Regards,

      Jay.
