    Title:
SQL method to derive segment values in Sub Ledger Accounting
    Summary:
SQL method to derive segment values in Sub Ledger Accounting
    Content:

We used to have sql method for auto accounting rules in EBS, in cloud we miss them. Is there anyway we can write sql based SLA rules to derive auto accounting. We want to use multiple Project classifications to derive different segment values but we can only qualify one classification code for auto accounting source.

Is there any workaround to use multiple class codes, if we have sql based derivation logic it can be easily accomplished.

There is no mechanism to derive additional accounting sources using sql in our cloud services.   There is a 'Custom Formula' feature that can be used to create additional sources, but acts upon the existing sources and will not satisfy the requirement of driving account rules from multiple project classification.  An alternative solution is to use Descriptive Flexfields to capture the values needed to derive the segment values.  All Project and Task DFF's are available as accounting sources.

We are currently using project DFF for additional fields but we may have multiple BUs created for different divisions and cluttering the project Header with  DFFs for different divisions may cause confusion so we want to avoid DFF as much as possible for this requirement. Using Context sensitive is not an option for different reason.

Trying to find more elegant workarounds.
