    Title:
    Order Creation Service in 19A
    Content:

    Hi All,

I could see that there are 2 different services available to Import Orders from upstream systems. I am looking for inputs around  the business case on when to use which service.

    Import Sales Orders(https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/supply-chain-management/19b/oessc/business-object-services.html#importsalesorders-d24631e42905)

    Receive Order Request Service(https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/supply-chain-management/19a/oessc/Receive-Order-Request-Service-svcp-15.html)

    Thanks,

    Nagesh.

The entire service itself is not marked as deprecated as some of the operations within the service are still supported. Following operations are what's deprecated and replaced with alternative services.

ProcessOrderRequest, ProcessOrderRequestSync, SubmitDraftOrder, SubmitDraftOrderSync GetOrderDetails, GetOrderDetailsSync

Only operations related to apply, release holds, pause & check availability are the ones that the service should be used for. The Import Sales Order & Order Information Service should be used for creating an order & for querying an order.

There are also REST APIs available which can be used for creating and querying of an order. Please note that REST API are being incrementally delivered with each release and so all of the functionality supported through the SOAP services is not yet available in REST.

Import Sales Order web service is recommended over Receive Order Service. ProcessOrderRequest operation within Receive Order Service is deprecated.

        Thanks Venkatesh.

I still see the service as active in 19b. Are there any plans to make this service obsolete in future?

        Receive Order Request Service

Provides the ability to bring orchestration orders from different order capturing applications into Oracle Fusion Distributed Order Orchestration.

        Life Cycle Status: Active

        Thanks,

        Nagesh.

Import Sales Orders: Always you need to use if you want to create Sales Order from External System to Cloud UI

Receive Order Request Service :  use to get update from external system for DOO task
