    Title:
    SQL Loader capability in DBaaS
    Summary:
Loading data into Oracle Cloud Database on VM using SQL Loader
    Content:

    Hi All,

We have a database VM on OCI, and I wanted to explore the option of running SQL Loader on DbaaS like we do in eBS Oracle database. Would that be possible?

    Thanks

    Dvi

Yes, you should. Do you have access to the VM host? It should come with all the database utilities installed, including sqldr.

        Hi Simon,

        Thanks for you comment.

Yes, we have access to Database VM on OCI.

Could you please provide more details as to how do we run this sql loader. Let's say I have got my data file in DB file server and have created and placed the sql loader control in DB file server as well. From where do I execute this?

        Thanks

      Hi Dvi,

With DbaaS, you can ssh into the underlying database compute VM as the OS user oracle, after that you will be able to execute sqlldr on the command line.

See here for information on how to connect to the DbaaS compute node via ssh. And also here for "Using SQL*Loader to Load Data into the Database".
